In the 90s a lot of pop songs started becoming popular, they started becoming more upbeat and started to use a lot of special effects especially in the later 90s.A lot of female singers started becoming more known when pop music first came out.The target audience for pop music and these type of songs were teenage females and males.

50 cent – In Da Club (2003)Mariah Carey – Touch My Body (2008)This is the year that the R&B music started to evolve more, more rap music started to come out and the music videos started to show more women in the video.The effects in the videos have gotten better and also with the camera angles, they’ve also improved.A lot of women started appearing in R&B music videos, they started wearing less clothing and started dancing more.

This music video had a lot of bright colours involved, and there was a lot of different characteristics involved and the song had a different meaning, because older pop songs had meanings about girls being stereotyped to be the perfect girl, whereas this song had a different meaning and said you don’t need to follow that stereotype, which in this generation is a perfect song because there is usually so many insecure girls wishing they was the perfect stereotyped girl, but with this song it described how it’s better to be different.
