Matejka and J. Anderson called on the Council re flooding in the Wolf Creek area, claiming that the flooding was aggravated by surplus water coming from a drainage project carried out last year by the Municipal District of Lacombe. On a motion by Councillor Reed, a Committee,composed of Chairman Crandall and Councillor Nagel, was appointed to contact the Lacombe Municipal District Council and arrange to investigate the situation. - Carried. Anderson called on the Council re flooding in the WolfCreek area, claiming that the flooding was aggravated bysurplus water coming from a drainage project carried outlast year by the Municipal District of Lacombe. On amotion by Councillor Reed, a Committee,composedofChairman Crandall and Councillor Nagel, was appointedto contact the Lacombe Municipal District Council andarrange to investigate the situation. - Carried.

Item 12} On a motion by Councillor Daviesit was agreed to permit half loading on all roads in theCounty, effective Tuesday, April 17, 1956, at 7:00 a.m.

Item An offer of purchase of the N.W. %ofl7-45-2-W5th was tabled until the next meeting on amotion by Councillor Hunt. - Carried.

Item (23) Bills and accounts recommended forpayment by the various Committees were ordered paid iffound correct on a motion by Councillor Owen. - Carried.

On a motion by Councillor Reed, meeting adjournedfor lunch to reconvene at 1:30 p.m. - Carried.

Item {5} Secretary called attention to themeeting of the Central Alberta Association of MunicipalDistricts at Red Deer on Saturday, April 14, 1956, at2:30 p.m.

Item ?ll) By-Law No. Canc.—56—l to authorizethe cancellation of arrears of taxes on Lot A, Block 2,Plan 3802 E.T., Hoadley, in the amount of $36.15 leviedin error, received first reading on a motion byCouncillor Reed, second reading on a motion by CouncillorDavies and third reading on a motion by Chairman Crandall.

- Carried.

Item (12) The Secretary presented a report oncollection for seed grain advances, showing balance stilloutstanding to be $1,837.95 from seven recipients out ofa total of fifteen receiving advances. Motion byCouncillor Hunt that further efforts be made to collectoutstanding accounts. — Carried.

Ipem (lg) All arrears of taxes on theFr. S.W. 5-44-l-W5th having been paid by the formerowner, all offers of purchase were discarded.

Mr. E. M. Danchuk, District Engineer, advised that afurther check on grant work would be made at the nextCouncil meeting.

Item (16) A letter from Stewart, Weir, Stewartand Williams re estimates for the Stevens ditch, wastabled awaiting action by the Water Resources Branch atEdmonton.

Item_&l§l On a motion by Councillor Nagel,the Secretary was instructed to write Cuan Neill to attendthe next meeting of the Council in regard to his complaintre flooding on the N.W. 19-A4-25-Whth. - Carried.

R. Greeley called on the Council re seed grainand the Secretary was authorized to give him a voucherfor 20 bushels of oats and 30 bushels of barley.

A delegation composed of Michael Troitsky,Wilfred Marchildon, F. W} Loyek and P. Tona called on theCouncil re the Fuller—Blindman School van route. TheDistrict Engineer pointed out a start had been made toimprove the road. Councillor Owen stated that the roadprogram proposed for 1955 could not be carried out due tolack of road machinery.

Item 16) Mrs. Low, Welfare Officer, called onthe Council re the Greshner case and advised that shewould make an effort to supplement the cost of medicalservice required by appealing to service clubs andprivate donations. Mrs. Low's report was accepted on amotion by Councillor Reed. — Carried.

Item {Z0} The request by Mrs. Hamilton for anapproach to E5 of 21-A2-4-W5th was referred to CouncillorOwen for investigation on a motion by Councillor Hunt.

- Carried.

Item £21) The request of T. E. Newton for aculvert - N.W. l -A2-2-W?th — was referred to the Secretaryto contact Councillor Van Nest to investigate the case.

On a motion by Councillor Owen, the depreciationrates as noted were accepted by the Council. - Carried.

Howard Scheelar called on the Council and advisedthat an elevating grader belt now in stock was not suitablefor use on the elevating grader and, on a motion byCouncillor Owen, the Secretary was requested to writeIndustrial and Road Equipment Company to ascertain if theywould take back the belt. - Carried.

On a motion by Councillor Hunt, Edgar Mann wasgranted relief in the amount of $50.00 per month untilfurther notice. - Carried.

The financial statement was accepted on amotion by Councillor Owen. - Carried.

Motion by Councillor Hunt that Dan Bloxhambe given sufficient seed for 60 acres. — Carried.

Council met with teachers at 7:30 p.m.No definite agreement was reached.

Item (7) In the absence of informationregarding road grant, allocations were tabled until thenext meeting.

Item {8} The application of Mrs. Nancy Smokerfor material aid was tabled awaiting residence investigation

Item (2) Renewal bonds for Secretary andAssistant were received from the Canadian Surety Company.
