Engaging Facebook fans with great content is a lot of work. Creatingcompelling content that will generate likes, comments and shares is evenharder. 2. Facebook Page Performance Barometer

Your Facebook page is an investment. You’re on there to turn a profit, after all.It may not be directly – often, it shouldn’t be – but you’re ultimately posting toget a material return on your business.

Thankfully, Facebook works really well for that.

The thing is, your page might be doing as well as it could. You could be losingout to your competition, and that’s never good. Worse still, you might not evenknow it.

That’s why AgoraPulse created the Facebook Page Barometer. It doesn’t tellyou how well your page is doing; it compares it to the industry averages. You’llknow where you stand relative to your rivals. How well your engagement andreach measure up. What you should focus more on and what’s okay to letstay the way it is.

Don’t market on Facebook blind. Know how well – or poorly – you’re doing. You’ll be wealthier that way.

The Facebook Ads Compass will review your page, judging the usual metrics(engagement, reach, return on ad spend, etc.). You can even see whereyou’re making the most money in terms of gender, age, and more. Thatmeans you can reduce your 50-75 investment if it’s not delivering a healthyreturn, diverting it to the 18-30 bracket that does.

The Ads Compass also looks at what placements are serving you best, likenewsfeed or sidebar. You can further optimized your campaigns this way, making the most of every Facebook dollar.

4. Headline Analyzer

Writing headlines isn’t the easiest thing if you’re not a writer. And even if youare, headline writing isn’t the same as academic or creative writing – or evencopywriting sometimes. They can be hard to get right.

And a good headline will help you get more shares on Social Media, without adoubt.

So, we like to take advantage of CoSchedule’s Headline Analyzer tool.

Just type in your headline and let it do the rest. It’ll look at your keywords, thelength of your headline, emotional value, and so on. It’s a quick and easy wayto get a sense of whether it’ll work or not.

If you’ve ever been to a marketing conference, you’ve probably noticed thePowerPoint or Keynote presentations. There’s a lot of them.

And if you’ve ever spoken to a conference, you probably have a few of yourown. You probably still do even if you haven’t. They work for client pitches, employee onboarding programs, product launches, and more. Andsometimes you want to put them out there, socially.

That’s what SlideShare’s for.

It’s the definitive social network for hosting and sharing presentations. And likethe big social networks, it doesn’t cost you a cent.

But creating visually appealing presentations is tough. We’re not all designers, and there’s a lot more awful powerpoint presentation out there than greatones. There’s even a book on Amazon about how to avoid creating reallybad Powerpoint presentation!

Thanks to the great technology behind Haiku Deck, you can easily createvisually appealing PowerPoint without any design skills. No more reason notto leverage the power of Slideshare for your visual content. Oh, and read thefollowing post if you need creative ideas to make the most out of Slideshare toincrease your traffic and leads.

6. Tagboard

Hashtags have moved beyond Twitter. They’re the keywords of social mediaand you should be paying attention to them.

Still, it can be hard to discover hashtags across multiple networks. You’ll findthem on Twitter of course, but they’re present on Instagram, Facebook, and

Pinterest too. Tagboard makes it easy.

Just search for a hashtag and Tagboard will display the pages and profiles it’son, whatever the social network happens to be. It’s a great way to visualizehow often a hashtag is used, the context in which it’s used, and who’s using it.From there, you can figure out who your most vocal customers are andstrategize around them.

Search for hashtags across everysocial network - in one place.

7. Twitter Audit

Authenticity matters. It matters in business at large, but it particularly matterson social media. You’re expect to be – or at least behave – like a real personthere, not a billboard.

That said, having lots of Twitter followers is a good thing – so long as they’rereal. It doesn’t matter whether you’re buying followers or not. The more fakeones you have, the more your real, living, breathing followers come underdoubt. And the more you come across as manipulative and lying, too.

That’s not good. You want to be liked – especially on social media. Positivebrand sentiment is the strongest currency there.

So, put your Twitter account into this Twitter Audit too to find out how many ofyour followers are fake. It’s not completely precise, of course, but it’ll give youa very reliable estimation to work with.

8. Easel.ly

Infographics perform well. People like image and people like stats. It onlymakes sense they’d like them together.

The trouble is, creating infographics takes a little talent. You can’t just build agood one in 5 minutes with only a cursory knowledge of Photoshop. You haveto actually know something about graphic design.

Or have an Easel.ly account.

It makes creating infographics easy, so everybody can do it. Think of it likeInstagram. You probably don’t have the time or expertise to add creative filtersto your photos, so you turn to Instagram to do it for you. Easel.ly is the sameway with infographics.

Just start with a template and add the statistics, objects, and charts you need. That’s it.

But, creating your own without a camera or a steady hand takes more timethan you probably have. What’s more, hunting for images online invites allkinds of legal problems if they’re licensed and financial problems if they’rebought. Sometimes you just need to do it yourself.

That’s where Canva comes in. It’s the image-building platform for people whodon’t know much of anything about building images. You’re probably terrible inPhotoshop – many of its users are – but you can build Photoshop-qualityimages just the same.

Your schedule and budget will thank you for doing it.

10. SimplyMeasured Instagram UserReport

We don’t have to remind you that analytics matter. It’s very hard to knowwhich way to go when you don’t know the way you’ve come.

We’ve talked about a few Facebook and Twitter tools – page performance, follower authenticity. Now it’s time for Instagram. You may have heard; it’sreally popular in marketing these days.

So, run your account in this Instagram User Report tool. You’ll discoverwhether you’re engaging – or not – as well as which photos are actuallydelivering. So long as you have fewer than 25,000 followers, this is theInstagram analytics tool for you.

11. Bit.ly

Last but not least, we have Bit.ly, the de facto link shortener of choice. You’veprobably heard of it – you probably even have an account yourself – but if notyou should start using it.

Just take Twitter. You have 140 characters to work with. That’s it. Simply put,if you want to include links your tweets – which you should whenever you can

– they have to be short. And often, you have to shorten them yourself.

Just paste your link in, shorten it, and paste it where you need it. Done.

Sometimes, it makes sense to pay for a tool. There are definitely tools that areworth it, and it’s hard to make money without spending a little first. Still, youdon’t have – and frankly shouldn’t – pay for everything. Not when you have somany exceptional free tools to work with, like the 10 here.
