AFCOOP’s 40th Anniversary Program goes on Tour!
https://www.facebook.com/atlanticfilmmakers/events?key=events AFCOOP is pleased to announce that we are taking our 40th Anniversary Retrospective program on tour in theAtlantic Region. Over the next few months our Festival Coordinator and co-curator of the program NelsonMacDonald will be traveling around the Atlantic region to present 8 screenings in partnership with other film co-ops and community theatres. Art and Social Media: What Could go Wrong? January, 15
th, 2015 6-9pm
Speaker: David Fraser, McInnes Cooper
The internet and social media present great opportunities and a few challenges for artists. While the
opportunity for the marketing and dissemination of artistic works has never been greater, cultural shifts in the
approach to digital works (appropriation, copying, remixing) also challenge conventional understandings of
copyright. At the same time, notions of privacy and the individual right to one’s image are also shifting. David
Fraser will provide an overview of both the challenges and opportunities presented by social media, from a legal
perspective, with ample opportunity for questions and answers.
Bonus! Check out the Art Gallery for free on Thursday evenings before coming to the Speaker Series.

creation of PromoFACT, an Electronic Press Kit and website production fund for Canadian artists, independent
record labels and artist management companies.
MuchFACT is now funded entirely by MuchMusic and MuchMore (formerly MuchMoreMusic). Originally named
VideoFACT, the company changed its name to MuchFACT in September, 2009. Along with the name change,
