Page 29: 1 2015 NeSA-Reading, Mathematics, and Science Test Administration Training March 10, 2015

The majority of

assessment irregularities

and/or security breaches involved:

• A make-up testing session

• A testing session being assigned to a teacher, paraprofessional, substitute teacher, or administrator who either---

had not had any preparation for test administration procedures or

who may have had preparation, but had not originally been assigned to administer NeSA tests, so had not reviewed test administration procedures

Make sure everyone who will administer NeSA tests has clear, organized, and sufficient

test administration preparation

Tips for Successful Online Testing

Make sure each student is provided his/her unique Student Test Tickets.

Instruct students to End their tests and Exit the INSIGHT Online Testing Software correctly in order for testing statuses to show as Complete.

If a disruption occurs, always try to have student log in on the same computer first. If a student is “kicked out” of a test, exit the software completely before trying to log in again.

56

Page 57: 1 2015 NeSA-Reading, Mathematics, and Science Test Administration Training March 10, 2015

Tips for Successful Online Testing

57

If a student experiences a technical issue while testing, below are common troubleshooting steps:

1) Exit INSIGHT and re-launch the software.2) Restart the computer and re-launch INSIGHT.3) Move to a different computer.4) Note the computer(s) experiencing the issue.

Technical staff may need to access the specific computer(s) to investigate and resolve the issue.

Page 58: 1 2015 NeSA-Reading, Mathematics, and Science Test Administration Training March 10, 2015

Test Session Materials – due to CIA Office by May 1

• Tickets are secure materials and must be distributed and collected as such.

• School Test Coordinator should maintain a copy of the secure materials checklist to account for all secure test items should DRC/NDE discover any discrepancies during the secure materials audit.

• School Test Coordinator to collect and securely return all Test Session Tickets.

• School Test Coordinator to collect and securely return all used and unused Test Booklets, Answer Sheets, Test Administration Manuals, CD’s, etc.
