It provides a locally owned and operated health care continuum offering a spectrum of services including; independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, medical equipment, pharmacy services, home care, and hospice care. At the same time, Columbine faces intense competition for health care workers and wanted to reduce turnover through understanding and boosting engagement, improve quality of potential employee pool, reduce expenses, and get actionable information into its manager’s hands quicker. SOLUTION jobZology™ was brought in to provide an engagement survey for Columbine Health Systems employees, a satisfaction survey for Columbine Health Systems residents & family members, to provide employees with online career guidance, and to assist hiring managers in talent selection. The goal was simple: Measure how those who work for and receive care from Columbine Health Systems feel about the environment and use this information to provide actionable information to management to improve care, reduce expenses, retain key talent, and recruit the best new talent. jobZology™ began by using its established process to measure Workforce Engagement and Culture of leaders and existing employees while also provided measurement of satisfaction from the residents & family members. All results are available in an online dashboard enabling Columbine to easily review and provide access to all facility managers much sooner than previous tools. The results from the resident & family members survey were also positively recognized by Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing during an audit. By comparing engagement/culture scores and resident satisfaction across facilities, jobZology™ was able to connect the dots between happy employees and happy residents. Next, jobZology™ reviewed all of the existing positions Columbine hires in a typical year to program its Talent Match tool. This allows Columbine Health Systems to hire from a deep applicant pool and instantly see which applicants fit the specific role and culture best. RESULTS jobZology™ provided a unified methodology that measured and reported how residents and employees feel about their lives at Columbine. This allowed Columbine Health Systems to move forward with focused activities based on real and meaningful data to improve the business. jobZology™ automated new candidate measures of fit to job and culture so hiring managers can review ratings of candidates fit in seconds. This has allowed them to redeem huge savings in the hiring process. Together jobZology™ and Columbine Health Systems truly understand that continuity of care is quality of care. “We chose jobZology to help us do our annual employee survey. It was the first time all 1,400 of Columbine’s employees will be surveyed about workplace and job satisfaction. This is key for us moving forward as we continually strive to be a preferred workplace environment in our community.” - Joyce Shorthill, HR Director
