Cabinet Meeting No. 3
Early last month, District Officers gathered at the Southern Cross College at Scarborough for the third Cabinet Meeting of the Lions’ year. The weekend was hosted by the Redcliffe Central Lions & Lionesses. I share with you some of the agenda items:
Cabinet Officer changes: o Zone 7 Chair – Col Hambrecht (Golden Valley Keperra)
o Zone 9 Chair – Kaye Smith (Albany Creek)
o ALCMF (Aust Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation and Children of Courage – Debbie Williams (Brisbane Inner North)
o Social Media – Peter Wilkes (Brisbane Inner North)
Discussions around the need for a District “Disaster Response” document to be compiled – need to liaise with all the local council “disaster management groups - committee to report back at May Cabinet Meeting with draft
• Hoping to produce an Infographic A4 poster which shows in summary the Disaster Relief efforts by Q3 Clubs this current Lions’ year
• The draft “Q3 Club Child Safety Risk Management & Procedures Policy” was discussed with feedback sought by 9 March
• Natalie Bugden (Toowoomba Wilsonton) appointed the District Child Safety Officer
My diary for March is looking quite busy with Clean Up Australia, Camp Duckadang working bee and Board meeting, the LCIF fundraising dinner with IPIP Gudrun and PIP Barry, Lions Awareness Day weekend, Leo State Conference, Redcliffe Central’s 40th Anniversary and Bribie Island’s 50th Anniversary celebrations and the Ladies in Lionism luncheon as well as some Club visits and my Mum’s 90th birthday.
Clean Up Australia Day – 1 March
Clubs around the District will be involved with this great Environment project. Don’t forget to promote what you are doing via social media or send us your photos at [email protected]
Lions Awareness Day – 7 & 8 March 2020
Is your Club ready? I am looking forward to hearing/seeing what Clubs will be doing to promote Lions across our District. All Zone Chairs have been provided with some advertising materials to issue to individual Clubs. Further materials can be ordered through Club Supplies via the Lions Australia website. Lions Australia have created a map for you to record details of your event, which they will promote through their PR and social media channels. You will find the map here https://lionsaustralia.mysocialpinpoint.com/lions-awareness-day-2020
Election of Officers for 2020-2021
Governance is an important aspect of Club management. It is time for members to be giving consideration to taking on club officer positions and other board positions. Encourage and support members to take on these roles. Don’t assume that other people will take on those positions.
Rule 14 in the club constitution states:
A nomination meeting shall be held prior to 31 March of each year. Fourteen days prior notice of such meeting shall be given to each member

“SHAPING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER – WE SERVE”
• Guest Speakers: o Rob Wilson (Q4) – Qld Representative for Lions’ Eye Health Program (LEHP) o Sarah Xu and Tiny Gordon – Aurous Community Visitors Service – seeking assistance from clubs from Toowoomba to Charleville to assist with locating venue and catering for meetings promoting the service
• Club Service Chairs – need a greater uptake from Clubs to appoint this role and enter on MyLCI + many Clubs still not reporting service activities on MyLion
• Membership figures – despite “new member” numbers on target, there is negative growth overall due to the number of members being dropped – our focus needs to be on retention and to minimize the number of people leaving the organization.
• Top Club Service Project competition – has your Club undertaken a new project this year – refer to February District Newsletter for details on how to apply – nominations due 10 March to Rodd Chignell (GST Coordinator)
• Club Officer Forums – invitation open to all members who wish to attend – dates for training to be confirmed
Leo of the Year – District judging On Saturday 8 March, I had the pleasure of attending the District judging for Leo of the Year. Tayla Ryan from the Crowfields Leo Club will represent the Q3 District at the State judging to be held at the State LEO Conference in March at Camp Kanga. We wish Tayla all the very best for the next level of competition. Thank you to District LEO Chair, Zac Prowse for organizing the event.
Camp Duckadang
Have you ever been to Camp Duckadang? And, why not I ask! This facility, owned by Lions, has been in operation for over 40 years and is jointly administered by 3 Districts - Q1, Q3 and Q4. The camp is a 1.5 hectare site in the upper reaches of the Brisbane River. Encourage your Club and members to visit or get involved with one of the working bees. Check out the website via this link http://campduckadang.com.au/.
Mentoring New Members
When new members join our Clubs, we need to provide them opportunities to gain knowledge
about the Lions’ organization, our ways of working and our many projects and foundations. How does this process happen in your Club? I commend to you the District Governor’s A1 Membership Award to assist members learn about the organisation. Please promote this award to new members to work towards achieving this Award. To receive the award, it requires new members to meet certain criteria within their first twelve months of service. Once completed, the member is presented with a Certificate and A1 badge in recognition. Details of the A1 Membership Award is included in the President’s Manual which can be accessed from the District website or contact Cabinet Secretary, Richard to send you the information.
Volunteer Service Register
Expressions of Interest are being called for the Lions Volunteer Service Register. Refer to the link below for further details:

Spread the Lions’ message
Long serving member Brian Hallinan (Samford) is encouraging us to spread the Lions’ message to the wider community with opportunities to attract new members by placing copies of the Lion magazine in waiting rooms and offices. Brian’s plan:
1. Each club to determine the most appropriate waiting rooms to target (+ seek approval from the business concerned) in their local area
2. Each club nominates a member to service each site
3. The member, once they receive their latest copy of the “Lion”, will take the previous issue to the allotted business waiting room/office (make sure Club contact details are written on the magazine in the space provided) and
4. Exchange for the previous issue of the “Lion” magazine.
5. Thank you Brian for your suggestion. Lions Australia e-newsletter
I encourage all members to subscribe to the e-newsletter (link below). You will receive regular updates to keep you abreast of what is happening from Lions Australia HQ. In the latest issue there is information about:

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
UNDER THE STARS MOVIES
Wamuran Lions Club had a fabulous time
serving up some delicious sausages on bread,
fairy floss, snow cones and what would a movie night be without popcorn?
Although it was not set out to be a fundraiser,
the money we did raise will be put with other
money raised from our Community Christmas
events and will be donated towards people
that have been affected by the bushfires.

PDG TED LOWE’S FIFTY YEARS
OF SERVICE TO LIONS
On 27th January we celebrated PDG Ted Lowe’s
50 years of service to Lions with a dinner at the
Kawana Surf Club.
We were joined by District Governor Donna
and husband Kevin, as well as many other
visitors who came along to help Ted celebrate
this wonderful achievement. DG Donna
presented Ted with the ALF 50 years of service
medallion.
PDG Ted joined Lions in Mackay on his
birthday in January 1970 when he became a
member of the Lions Club of Pioneer Valley.
When he was sent by Shell to Bundaberg he
transferred to the Lions Club of Bundaberg. In
1977 another transfer with Shell saw him
transfer into the Lions Club of Brisbane
Mansfield where he remained until his
retirment from Shell in 1984. He transferred to
the Lions Club of Lake Currimundi-Kawana in
May 1991.
After completing his term as District Governor Ted
served on Districe Cabinet for twelve years as well
as fulfilling his duties within his Club.
During his fifty years PDG Ted has received many
awards from International, Multiple District and
District. These have included a James D Richardson
Award in 1986, Life Membership in 1990 and he
was inducted as a Melvin Jones Fellow in 1988.
Congratulations Past District Governor Ted.

“SHAPING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER – WE SERVE”
In the next few months, I will be approaching
clubs (or Secretaries) for information about
next year’s officers, and details for Multiple
District (MD) Convention. Specifically, I will
be asking you to:
• complete a PU 101 with details for the
MD Directory and District use. I will
send you the form electronically
• add your Club office bearers to MyLCI
(Lions and Leo Clubs)
• provide details of your delegates for MD Convention (Lions Clubs) • provide details for the Memorial Service at MD Convention • order paper MD Directories for your Club
To enable secretaries to discharge these duties, Club Presidents please complete your Club elections as early as possible … and preferably not later than the first week in April. You may care to re-read the Rules 11 and 12 of the new Constitution’s requirements for Club Officers, which includes – RULE 11 - OFFICERS.
Section A. The Officers of this Club shall be a President, Immediate Past President, Vice President(s), Secretary, Treasurer, Service Chairperson, Marketing Communication Chairperson, Membership Chairperson.
RULE 12 - BOARD OF DIRECTORS/ MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Section A. The members of the Board of Directors / Management Committee shall be the Club Officers in addition to the other members elected to the Board. These positions may include Program Coordinator, Club LCIF Coordinator, Safety Officer, Lion Tamer, Tail Twister.
Also, to assist secretaries, please decide if
you are planning to attend Convention so
you can offer yourself as a Club delegate.
Speaking of MD Convention, I encourage
you attend – combine it with a few days
exploring what South Australia has to offer
(we’ve booked accommodation on
Kangaroo Island), catch up with Lions from
around the country, listen to always
impressive Leo and Youth of the Year
Finals, find out about Lions activities….
For more information, check their website
https://lionsadelaideconvention2020.com
.au/
Shortly I will be sending out invitations to
the Club Officer Forums – we encourage all
Lions, Lionesses and Leos to attend a session
– we focus on helping you manage your Club
as well the specifics of Club Officer roles.
As I read this report, I recognise that I devote
a lot of column inches to administering our
great organization – and realise that it is all
about making sure that we continue to serve
– in the next few weeks, it is not receiving the
PU101s that I am looking forward to – they
are a necessary evil to enable me to get
involved with Youth of the Year, Clean Up
Australia and Lions Awareness Day, and to
hang out with my friends.
And, speaking of Lions Awareness Day, has
your Club added its event to map of activities
https://lionsaustralia.mysocialpinpoint.co
m/lions-awareness-day-2020 - which has a
link to the map and instructions. Ring me
(0423 240 256) if you are struggling. Let’s
see if we can get 40 Q3 events listed.

“SHAPING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER – WE SERVE”
During February I am continuing my
preparations for selecting my cabinet team for
2020 to 2021. At the Cabinet Meeting early in
February my nominations for the following
management roles were approved by Cabinet.
The positions and approved positions and
Lions are as follows.
Cabinet Secretary
Richard Williams
Assistant Cabinet Secretary
Barbara Matthews
Cabinet Treasurer
PDG Arthur Witheyman
Constitution and By-Laws Chairman
PDG Norm Alcock
I believe the existing roles need to run the
course of another year with the District
benefiting from my confidence in their existing
performance, prior cabinet experience and to
enable the Assistant Cabinet Secretary the
opportunity to act as Cabinet Secretary for a
period later this year.
Following these cabinet roles, I am continuing
confirming our Global Action Team, Global
Membership Team and Global Leadership
Team roles together with the Region and Zone
Chairman positions.
During February I was unable to travel to
Chicago, but I have received all the information
from my colleagues and Lions Clubs
International.
This was a good opportunity afforded the
District Governor Elect from around the world
to network and meet the 1st International Vice
President.
I would also like to promote our 2010
Convention and make mention of the hard
work put in by our team led by Fiona Roberts.
Please pencil in this date and book
accommodation early as there is another
event in Toowoomba that weekend 2nd to 4th
October 2020. There will be more information
in this Newsletter regarding the Convention.
On the program it is our intention to run the
remembrance ceremony on Saturday morning
prior to Saturday’s business sessions.
In the oncoming months I will highlight and
explain my District Governor’s theme which
will be
‘To Make a Difference through Service’.
I will explain what I see as ‘Service’ vs ‘Fund
Raising’ and the necessity to apportion our
time doing both.
To conclude I wish all Clubs success in their
nomination procedures which will begin next
month.
Yours in Lionism
David Orton

LEADERSHIP MATTERS
“Change is inevitable, Progress is a choice.”
― Dean Lindsay
______________________________________________
This is the time of the year when Clubs are
reviewing their processes, considering roles
and responsibilities and planning for success
in 2020-2021. Here are two tools that may
assist.
1. ‘How are your ratings?’ is an
evaluation tool available to Clubs. It has
a simple format and you could choose 1
or 2 key areas to gain feedback from
your members.
Are you open to feedback?
Do you see value saying “STOP! Let’s
have a focus meeting on how we are
travelling?”
2. The 'S.C.O.R.E.' Framework for
Developing High Performance Teams
/ Clubs
Your success often depends on how well you
and other Club members work together.
When your team is well aligned, a commonality
of direction emerges, and individual energies
harmonize. You have a shared vision and an
understanding of how to complement each
other’s efforts. You seek and celebrate success.
❖ The characteristics of each element of
'S.C.O.R.E.' are outlined below.
S: Strategy and Purpose
High-performing teams with a cohesive strategy
and team purpose, articulate a strong, uniting
purpose that is common to all team members.
They describe how they work together, by
defining team values and ground rules.
Finally, they are clear about what they do, by
agreeing key result areas.
C: Clear Roles and Responsibilities
Successful teams determine overall team
competencies, and then clearly define
individual member roles and responsibilities.
High-performing teams realistically examine
everyone’s responsibilities, in terms of interest
and ability, resulting in an accurate
understanding of each member’s
accountability and contribution to the team.
O: Open Communication
Communication is the key component in
facilitating successful team performance.
Effective communication relies on the proper
use of a range of communication channels.
R: Rapid Response
A high-performing team needs to be adaptable
and respond quickly to changes in the
environment, using creativity and 'outside the
box' thinking. When faced with a problem, the
team brainstorms possible solutions, agrees
actions and timelines and may create
innovative resolutions.
E: Exemplary and Effective Leadership
Effective team leaders adjust their style, as
necessary, depending on the task at hand
and the skill level of each team member
performing that task. The leader plays a
critical role in raising morale, by providing
positive feedback and coaching team
members to improve performance.
❖ Leadership is everyone’s business!

ordinator

Lions of District Q3
We are into a new year of Lionism and this year is going to be a particularly hard one for
Lions and the public in general. The drought is ongoing for a lot of people and I know it is
storming here in Toowoomba today, but even with drought breaking rain, it takes a couple of
years to get back on your feet. The bush fires are a whole new ball-game, when a bush fire
goes through you have nothing, you have to replace everything and this is where our
Foundation comes into force and all of the money you donate goes to the fire appeals, there
is none kept over for new year or for administration. All goes to the people and the Lions who
need help.
For all those Lions that are participating in Campaign 100, it is time to donate your US$100
for the year, if you are doing this monthly ignore my request. I must donate my US$100 this
month also.
Those of you that require tax receipts could possibly email me closer to June for me to send
them out.
If you haven’t already donated to Campaign 100, I urge you to support the Lions Clubs
International Foundation. In the past we have all heard the crazy stories that all the money
goes to the USA, but as you have seen these past months in the newsletter I have passed
onto you, the Foundation (LCIF) has donated nearly half a million dollars to Australians
affected by disaster.
It is not a huge amount to donate when you break it down, AUD $140 (US$100) is close to
$11.60 per month, $2.90 a week. A can of coke or a bottle of water a week to give up. So
please help. The other side of the coin is what AUD $140 can do. Fund two cataract surgeries,
Diabetes screening for 18 people, Measle vaccinations for 100 children, this list goes on. and in
the words of you, old enough to remember Perry Mason, I rest my case.
For Clubs wishing to donate we have the tank promotion at present, AUD $3,000 gives a
22,700 litre poly tank (approx. 6,000 gallons) on a cement base, fully plumbed and fitted with
a pump. And last, but by no means least, filled with fresh clean drinking water. Then your
Club is recognised for having donated the tank with your Clubs name painted on the tank
and the foundation logo for all to see. “Donated by the Lions Club of Woop- Woop Inc.”
The other way to participate in Campaign 100 is for the Club to donate US $100 for each of
its members, a great way to donate and help from your Community Service account. My Club
did this with twenty-eight members at the time for three years which made me so proud to
be a Lion and a member of my Club.
So, get together over a drink (coffee, tea, red or a chardy) and work out how your Club can
help Australians and the world by becoming part of Campaign 100. We are all in the same
boat, which is very evident at present with this new virus spreading around the world. We
are all Word Citizens in the big picture.

MOOLOOLAH VALLEY LIONS
BUSH FIRE APPEAL
January was a busy time for the Mooloolah
Valley Lions Club with our Bush Fire Appeal.
Members were out and about in the local
community collecting donations for the
appeal, which the locals were pleased to
contribute to. Donation tins were also
placed in the Mooloolah Valley Country
Club. On January 26th we were invited to
collect more donations at the Country Club
Australia Day celebrations. We were also
able to offer our jumping castle for the
enjoyment of the children and our newly
acquired marquee (which was purchased
with a council grant) to keep patrons dry
from the morning rain.
The Country Club donated $980 from their
BBQ takings toward the appeal. A total of
$3100 has been sent to the Australian Lions
Foundation to assist those affected by the
fires.

DAVE’S SHAVE
I grew this beard in July last year to raise
funds for one of our Lions Projects,
“JuLikeMyChops” and raised just under
$4500 for Childhood Cancer Research.
Now on 4th April it will come off.
But before then I am again raising funds for
another worthy cause. This time the
Leukaemia Foundation’s “World's Greatest
Shave” has my support, I’m on a mission to
“shave” the world from blood cancer.
I have set a goal of $4,000 and in less than 2
days over $1,054 has been donated. It would
be great to get somewhere near that previous
figure again.
If you can, please sponsor me by clicking the
following link and then share with your
friends on facebook and email contacts.

TOOWOOMBA’S CHRISTMAS
WONDERLAND
Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland is the
largest Christmas event of its type in
Australia and is presented annually by the
Lions Club of Toowoomba West. In 2019,
despite the ongoing drought and local bush
fires, the community again generously
supported this Christmas festival. The event
opens every year on the first Saturday in
December and closes on Christmas Eve.
There is no admission charge to Toowoomba’s
Christmas Wonderland, only a gold coin
donation is requested. Families can enjoy an
affordable night, depicting the true meaning
of Christmas. Scores of local businesses
support this event by sponsorship, either
goods in kind or cash.
Although wet weather and power outages
effected the event on three nights in 2019,
over 72,000 people visited Toowoomba’s
Christmas Wonderland. They came to marvel
at the hundreds of light displays; enjoy the
live entertainment by Toowoomba’s best
entertainers, choirs and dancers and free
refreshments.
All donations are returned to the local
community through the major beneficiaries,
Toowoomba Hospice, Toowoomba Hospital
Foundation and Lifeline Darling Downs and
South West Queensland. In 2018, the total
benefiting the local community exceeded one
million dollars. Although the final funds from
2019 are yet to be calculated, it is expected
that generosity of visitors to Toowoomba’s
Christmas Wonderland will be reflected in the
money distributed at a special function in
February.
The project commences in February with
planning, checking lights and design and
building new displays.
Over 3000 volunteer hours goes into this
aspect with a further 6000 volunteer hours in
the setup, nightly activities and pull down.
Over 40 volunteers are needed for the nightly
activities. These volunteers come from over 48
local organisations and businesses.

The Treasurer of ALF (PDG Allan Cooper) has
clarified the procedure for making donations
to the Australian Lions Foundation.
Lions Clubs:
The account number for ALF Ltd's

all types of disasters, including the recent
Drought Appeal and the current Bushfires
Appeal is: BSB: 036-048 A/c number:

NB As a reference, Clubs need to put their

Emergency Disaster Appeals bank account,
as follows: BSB 036-001 A/c number:

NB: As a reference, individuals making
donations to the above account also need

The Treasurer said that ALF is still receiving
a few donations to our Drought Appeal, with
total funds received to date of $1,351,915,
with $1,301,450 having been disbursed as

AUSTRALIAN LIONS
HEARING DOGS
Lions Clubs and other organisations in Australia generously donate to our Hearing Dog
program, thus allowing us to procure, train and provide fully trained Hearing Dogs for Deaf
and Hard of Hearing people all over Australia.
We provide every dog free as a gift from the Lions Clubs of Australia.
Because this is a Lions Project, it’s necessary for all the Lions of Australia to be kept informed
of the events and proposed changes that will be occurring at the Training Centre at Verdun
in South Australia.
Since July last year, we’ve been striving to bring you up to date with monthly articles in your
District Newsletters, and although this has been successful and with good feedback, it’s so
much better when you have your District Chairperson standing in front of you explaining
everything to you, and answering questions.
Plus there’s an added bonus if the District Chairperson can bring along a Hearing Dog and
the owner to the meeting also. Fantastic opportunity to learn firsthand how the Hearing Dog
provided by Lions has changed their life.

Beware e-mail scams targeting Lions
Lions should be aware of common e-mail and social media
scams targeting club members. Sadly, some of our members
have been targeted with these scams.

Warba Warba Café
“Too hard!”
“No one will want coffee sold in a park”
“You won’t be able to staff it!”
These were several of the comments that
came from some members when we first set
about the planning for this project over two
years ago.
We don’t hear so many of those comments
anymore!
With a lot of being CIP (Consistent, Insistent
and Persistent) we have successfully set up
what we believe is a Lions first for Qld – a
café solely operated and managed by a Lions
Club in cooperation with our local regional
council.
After 18 months we have supported various
local causes with our profits.
This amounts to approximately $13500 of
support simply through the sales of quality
barista made coffee and homemade bakery
goods and of course the time dedicated by a
team of volunteers.
In the last 6 months we have made and sold
• 1409 coffees
• 318 milkshakes
• 174 iced coffees and chocolate
• 710 scones
• 257 monte carlos
• 418 cheese toasties
• 234 lemon slices………………….and
the list goes on.
In our enthusiasm to set up and partly through
not knowing what we really needed (bench
space became an issue) we have a 6 slice café
toaster surplus to our requirements.
Cost $597 Sell for $450
Roband – 6 Slice – TC66 Model
Stainless Steel
6 minute timer
Crumb Tray
Multi Slice Selection
Power 2800 watts
Current 12.1 amps (needs 15A power point)
Dimensions 420x265x312

DROUGHT RELIEF REPORT
Over the past few days I have been arranging
for the arrival of a semi from Tasmania with
thirty-two round bales and one large square
bale for the drought affected farmers in this
area.
Originally we were only taking half the load
and the rest was going to the Wondai area in
Q4. However, because of the flooding of local
roads and Highways, it was decided to take
the full load here in Toowoomba as it was
doubtful if the truck could get to Wondai.
I have been arranging this with Q4 disaster
chairman Michael Roach and PDG Jan
Barsby also of Q4. Locally I was able to get
storage for the load at the Farm Fest site with
Lion Marshall Cox of the Toowoomba West
Lions Club using his contacts to have a large
shed available for storage at the Farm Fest
site west of Toowoomba.
With the help of local Lions, Ken and Janelle
Bray, PDG Bob Goldsworthy and myself of
the Wilsonton Club, Zone Chairman Gail
Jones of Oakey Lions Club, Lion Wilma
Proudlock of Pittsworth Club and Lion Traudi
Krampl of Cecil Plains Lions Club, the
farmers in need of feed in these areas were
contacted and they came and collected the
hay with the help of Greg, a farmer from
Meringandan that provided a fork lift.
All bales were given out and taken away and
the need for storage was not required.
I would like to thank the Driver Tom, who
drove all the way from Tasmania, the
Trucking Company that he works for and the
“Need for Feed” organisation who arranged for
us to have this hay.
Also the Farm Fest CEO who allowed this to
happen.

ASHGROVE/THE GAP LIONS
How often do you hear the cry “time poor”?
These days many of us find ourselves caught
up in the ‘fast lane’ that modern day living
seems to demand of us. The days of long
talks over the back fence seems to be a thing
of the past. This lack of time is often evident
in the closure of many of our local
organisations such as bowls clubs and the
decreasing number of members in various
community clubs.
However Ashgrove/The Gap Lions club
seems to be going against this trend. Thanks
to our very active membership committee
ably led by its chair, Peter Cooper, our
membership numbers hold steady.
However, we are always very ready to
welcome new members and just recently
Lindsay Green was inducted into our club.
Great to have you on board!
However the club is also aware that it is
important to honour existing members and
to ensure that they are recognised for the
work they do on behalf of the club. One of
the ways in which this is done is to present
various awards to members who show a solid
commitment to Lionism. The highest
recognition that can be given to an individual
member is the Melvin Jones Fellowship that
is named after one of the founding members
of Lions Clubs back in 1917. A recent
recipient of this award for outstanding
service to the Ashgrove/The Gap Lions club
was Lion David Hall, who has been a member
for over 10 years during which time he has
held a variety of positions within the club.
Congratulations David!
No matter what skills anyone may have there
is always a place for you in the Lions family.
Our meetings, which are held bi-weekly, allow
us to join in fellowship and to work together
to plan for future events. Special days, such
as the recent Valentine’s Day, see us out in
the community raising much needed funds
and in this instance it was by selling roses at
the Domestic airport with all monies going to
the Lions Medical Research Foundation.
Also, we currently have our annual Youth of
the Year program to organise. This program
gives the youth of Australia an opportunity to
hone their public speaking skills whilst
showing us that this country’s future is in
very good hands.

CHILDREN’S MOBILITY
FOUNDATION AND CHILDREN OF
COURAGE
Our District Chair for Australian Lions
Children’s Mobility Foundation and Children
of Courage, Di Unwin, has had to take a step
back from these roles. Di has done an
amazing job over the nine years she has held
these portfolios and we are very grateful for
the time and energy she has put into
supporting and promoting these wonderful
projects.
I am going to be looking after these projects
for the remainder of this Lion’s year, so if you
have any questions or would like any
information regarding these projects, don’t
hesitate to contact me.
