Add Chat Room To a New Page

Steps: Click on Add a Page (left side of the

screen) Give a Name and click Create Click on the Permissions Tab and click the Can

View box if students are allowed to view the page you are creating

Add Chat to Existing Page

Steps: Go to page you wish to add a Chat

Room Click on Edit page Click on the Content Tab Click on Add a portlet Place a check infront of Chat (type

in a new name if wanted) Click on Add Portlets to page Add Chat to Existing Page

Administer Chat Room

Steps: Open Internet Explorer Open the Course in My.Wartburg Go to the page with the Chat Room Click on Admin Chat Add a New Room by typing in a name for

the room into Room name then click Create Click on site-admin help: ? for additional

Using the Chat Room

Steps: Open the Course in My.Wartburg Go to the page with the Chat Room Click on General or any of the chat rooms If nothing happens the page is probably being

blocked…unblock pop-ups from My.Wartburg Type in your message and click on Send Right Click on a student name for more

options Private message, one-on-one, ban if inappropriate,

etc.
