The CMCE-(Crown Mounted Compensation and Equalization) cylinders are installedin the top of the derrick where they compensate vertical movements of the drillingrig relative to the ground fixed and standing still drilling rod. Two main and twoequalizing cylinders are always working parallel which requires identical frictionbehavior of each cylinder couple. Depending on the wave run the maximum movingspeed of these cylinders can go up to 2m/sec.

Hunger rotary actuators are used in all technical applications where rotatingmovements are required with a constant momentum. The single and double pistonrotary actuators have been further refined by Hunger in order to optimizeperformance parameters. Standard and special constructions of 190,000 Nm and720°pivoting angle have been successfully used for many years.
