** As we draw closer to Holy Week, a question that has arisen is the annual Holy Land Collection. The Congregation for the Oriental Church-es postponed the Holy Land Collection from Good Friday to Sept. 12-13. Rather than the scheduled date of May 3, this year’s Seminarians and Priest Education and Formation special collection will now be taken up June 20-21. Parish that receive envelopes for either of these collections on the original dates, should hold the money in trust and process it with the monies

Catholic Social Teaching

Divine Mercy Sunday (Second Sunday of Easter) Thomas believes Jesus has risen from the dead only after he sees Jesus and places his fingers in his wounds. We may not be able to place our hands physically on Jesus every day, but we can see his presence in those around us. How are we helping others see Jesus today?

Prayer During An Epidemic

Lord Jesus,

Hear our pleas, our Good Shepherd and Divine Physician.

We implore your mercy in the wake of an outbreak of

serious illness and disease.

Guide our efforts to prevent contagion and make preparations to care for those most invulnerable. Assist all professionals and volunteers who work to eradicate the epidemic now spreading. May our actions be marked by your steadfast love and selfless

service and never by panic or fear.

Bestow your comfort and healing to the sick, sustain and strengthen them by your grace. May they know your closeness

as they carry the cross of illness.

And may all who have been called from this life come to wor-ship you eternally with all the saints as you grant consolation

and peace to their mourners. Amen

Holy Mary, Health of the Sick, pray for us.

St. Joseph, Hope of the Sick, pray for us.

St. Rocco, protector against epidemics, pray for us.

Trust in God - During a time of crisis or uncertainty, we may find

ourselves struggling with fear and anxiety. This is a natural reaction. But St. Paul reminds us in his letter to the Philippians to “have no anxi-ety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanks- giving let your requests be made known to God” (4:6). Then, he assures us, “the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (v.7). With steadfast prayer and thanksgiving, then, we do our best to put our trust in the Lord. Let your actions reflect the trust and peace that can only be found in him. Stay close to Jesus and the Blessed Mother in prayer, asking that those who are suffering from the disease or from any related anxiety ay find healing and peace.
