Reading - academic achievement and reading are closely linked
• All subjects, including Mathematics expect high levels of literacy• All students should read for pleasure every day of the year• Ensure it is part of preparation for bed• Reading relaxes the brain• Makes students smarter!
Learning Resource Centre offers a myriad of reading and research
resources
All subjects are important
Mathematics, English and Science may seem to be the foundation subjects but……
Integrated Learning teaches essential research and learning skills that are critical for the HSC
All students study Studies of Religion for their HSC and it helps improve the ATAR.
RE classes in Years 7-10 teach the foundation content and Skills for the Senior years

– now where’s the on/off switchy thing?”

Don’t be afraid – be aware and informed – ask questions
Age appropriate use; set limits
