Inquiry Based Learning
• Part of our program of Academic Enrichment• Builds skills for success in Acceleration Program (Yr 10)• Provides grounding for subjects involving Major Works (Society and
Culture, Community and Family Studies, Visual Arts, Design And Technology, Extension II English etc)
• Promotes independent research and reporting skills applicable to Physics, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental science and Biology
It is:- Creative by design Students will study their area of passion / essentially every
student gets their first elective choice. Problem finding Point in time resolutions
AT MHS IBL HAS 4 DISTINCT MODULES
1. Skill development academic writing and ethics in research. Learning styles, intelligences and strengths
2. Research skills - the driving question as a basis for innovation
3. Case study analysis of real world problems and resolutions.
4. Independent problematic research task, through to a full presentation.

Designed to further develop skills for advancement into
stage 6 learning projects.
