If an Unit / Component / Paper has been omitted at subject cohort level please briefly outline the reasons why:- Assessment 1: Only AS Level content as the students had not been taught A Level content yet. AS Level official mark schemes and grade boundaries applied. Assessment 2: AS Level and A Level content summative assessment only including what the students had been taught till this point. A Level content excluded:

Pure - Parametric Equations, Differentiation, Integration, Numerical Methods and Vectors.

Statistics – Regression for non-linear and exponential models, Hypothesis Testing using the PMCC, Venn Diagrams, Conditional Probability, The Normal Distribution

Mechanics – Forces and Friction, Projectiles, Application of forces and Further Kinematics Official mark schemes and grade boundaries applied.

Assessment 3: We had covered the full breadth of the curriculum prior to this assessment in lesson. The assessment used was set by the awarding body as end of course examination therefore covered the breath of the curriculum. Official mark schemes and grade boundaries applied. In all the assessments we only used formal assessments/past exam questions by the awarding body as this is what we have always done historically. This has enabled us to compare against historical results, national averages and recognise trends. At each assessment point we used external mark schemes and grade boundaries published alongside the examination used.

Outline the rationale for the choice of assessment evidence used, i.e. why the evidence above was used and how it supported the grading decision:- We used formal assessments/past paper questions by the awarding body as this is what we have always done historically. This has enabled us to compare against historical results, national averages and recognise trends. At each assessment point we used external mark schemes and grade boundaries published in line with the examination used.

If an Unit / Component / Paper has been omitted at subject cohort level please briefly outline the reasons why:- N/A

Outline the rationale for the choice of assessment evidence used, i.e. why the evidence above was used and how it supported the grading decision:- The whole course has been covered and tested to a Medium/High level of control to aid consistency and moderation. Both Literature exam papers have been tested over the assessments chosen. Elements of both papers have been tested later on in the course to provide current evidence and time for moderation using the new Grade descriptors. All assessments have been supervised in school to monitor work accurately. Students sat the Mock papers under exam conditions. All students have completed their NEA coursework folder and their work moderated. The Additional Assessment 7 is there as extra, relevant evidence to secure grades. The set of assessments demonstrates the full breadth of the English Literature course and will support the TAG decisions.

If an Unit / Component / Paper has been omitted at subject cohort level please briefly outline the reasons why:-

Outline the rationale for the choice of assessment evidence used, i.e. why the evidence above was used and how it supported the grading decision:- Mock exam data has been used as these represent highly controlled assessments that covered a significant part of the specification that were marked using the examination mark schemes and graded against typical examination grade boundaries. Marking was moderated to ensure that the standards reflected represented a fair result. Additional testing in April was used to identify where students had made improvements to their learning since the mock exams and for us to assess a larger part of the specification in total.

If an Unit / Component / Paper has been omitted at subject cohort level please briefly outline the reasons why:- Component 2 Section C has been omitted. This part of the course had only just begun when exams were cancelled. Staff made a decision to focus on Component 3 NEA.

Outline the rationale for the choice of assessment evidence used, i.e. why the evidence above was used and how it supported the grading decision:-

A combination of high, medium and low-level control

Evidence is from across the course, from December 2019 – May 2021 to best illustrate students’ abilities in a range of circumstances and

to show either their consistency to achieve a certain grade or the fluctuation in their grades.

Evidence covers both Component 1 sections A,B,C, and Component 2 sections A,B,D and Component 3.

. Evidence covers AO1, the demonstration of knowledge and learning; AO2, the application of knowledge and learning; AO3 apply

knowledge and understanding of elements of film to the production of a film or screenplay.

. Evidence covers core study areas of film form, meaning and response and context.

. It also covers specialist areas of study: auteur, spectatorship, ideological critical approaches, narrative and critical debates.

. Mark schemes issued by the exam board were used where appropriate.

If an Unit / Component / Paper has been omitted at subject cohort level please briefly outline the reasons why:- Component 1: Theme 3 Component 2: Theme 4 Component 3: Theme 4 These themes/units were particularly difficult to teach at a distance level due to the complexity of the content. There were other themes/strands that were difficult, but I believed would contribute better to band 5 (insightful links across components), so focused on these when in the classroom. Time in the classroom was obviously restricted.

Outline the rationale for the choice of assessment evidence used, i.e. why the evidence above was used and how it supported the grading decision:- I have decided to use the opportunity to test the students for a number of reasons:

1. One ‘high level’ of control assessment available for evidence was at the beginning of the course and therefore using A/S marking 2. The second ‘high level’ of control assessment was during the brief period they were back in school and I don’t believe was a true

representation of their abilities 3. The ‘medium level’ of control assessments will allow me to be confident in my grading as I will have a larger pool to choose from 4. Some students have access arrangements that weren’t in place for previous tests
