Unit Descriptor

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to produce various business documents. It

includes the skills and knowledge required to select and use a range of functions on a computer

application.

Evidence Guide

The Evidence Guide identifies the critical aspects, underpinning knowledge and skills to be

demonstrated to confirm competency for this unit. This is an integral part of the assessment of

competency and should be read in conjunction with the Range Statement.

Assessment of performance requirements in this unit should be undertaken in an actual

Delivery and Assessment Mode(s): Classroom

Assessment Instructions For this assessment you are required to complete 30 short answer questions. To pass this assessment

you need to answer all 30 questions correctly.

If you do not pass the first time, your lecturer will contact you and let you know when you can resubmit

AND/OR sit a second test.

This assessment must be completed within 30 minutes.

You are permitted to use your textbook, reference manuals and/or your own notes.

Description: RTO Based Practical

Consisting of the following units of competence:

BSBCMN306A: PRODUCE BUSINESS DOCUMENTS

The above competencies are part of the following qualifications

BSB30201: Certificate III in BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Training Package: BSB01 BUSINESS SERVICES

ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS

To pass this assessment, you are to complete the following tasks. If you do not pass the first time,

your lecturer will contact you and let you know when you can resubmit AND/OR sit a second

assessment.

You must complete this assessment within 30 minutes.

You are permitted to use your textbooks, reference manuals and/or your personal notes to complete

these tasks.

You will require a floppy disk for this assessment. Please make sure your disk is labelled with your

name.

Follow the instructions carefully. Submit your disk and printouts.

1 Follow OHS guidelines in relation to screen based equipment and ergonomic workstations

2 Log on/Start computer according to procedures

3 Format your floppy disk

4 Use the on-line help function and print out the instructions on creating Auto Correct entries.

5 Find and copy the following FILES to A: from the directories specified:

Prac1A.PDF from S:\SHARED\SANFOF

Prac1B.doc from S:\SHARED\SANFOF

6 Print out Prac1A.PDF. Type the letter into Word and save the file onto your

Diskette as Prac1A.doc. Proof read the document to ensure there are not spelling or typing mistakes.

Correct the grammar as necessary.

7 Print out Prac1B.PDF. Open Prac1B.doc and make the format changes indicated on the printed

Prac1B.PDF file. Create a table of contents and an index. Save the changed file to the diskette

keeping the name Prac1B.doc.

8 Open Prac1C.doc correct the spelling, grammar, line spacing and margins as per the organisational

standards you have been issued by the assessor. Save the file to the diskette using the same name.

9 Submit completed work to your Assessor.

the outside border is a double line the columns are adjusted so that the headings are able to be displayed on one line without

breaking onto a second line the total line is shaded 5% grey

the table is centre horizontally on the page

Save the file onto your diskette as Table.doc.. Close all open applications. Shut down your computer
