Purpose of the Evening

• Emphasise that students will be completing a GCSE course in science this academic year

• Summarise the benefits of this opportunity for all students

• Outline the structure of the course, how it is assessed and academy expectations

• Outline resources available to support

Core Science GCSE

• One full GCSE course. This is separate to Year 11(additional).

• Two GCSE’s obtained by the end of year 11 of equal weighting. They can be different grades.

• No other GCSE courses for the majority of students
