Since 2016, Wales Co-operative Centre, on behalf of Bridgend County Borough Council, has supported local organisations with their community asset transfer activities in areas such as governance, legal structures, business planning, visioning and strategy work. Bryncethin RFC is just one client that has received support via this relationship, helping them access capital grant funding to self-manage sporting facilities with plans to transform a dilapidated pavilion into a community hub – a projected estimated cost in excess of £400K.
In 2017 Home-Start UK commissioned the Wales Co-operative Centre to carry out a strategic review of the future of the Home-Start network in Wales. The Wales Co-operative Centre delivered a comprehensive options appraisal report and facilitated a number of all-Wales workshops to ensure the views of all key stakeholders fed into the work. The Wales Co-operative Centre is now working with Home-Start to implement a programme of change across Wales.
The Wales Co-operative Development and Training Centre Limited (trading as the Wales Co-operative Centre) is a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, number 24287 R.
