Tips for writing ITN proposal• Why is this particular training needed?

– ChildBrain: Diagnosis and remediation of neurocognitive disorders of infants/children lags behind that of adults

– need for high level experts who understand brain and cognitive development, brain research methods and brain anatomy

• Companies should have a significant role– Allocate ESRs– Secondments– Teaching– Tight link to the research plan

• Specify the role of Partner Organizations• Emphasize the mobility between academy and private sector as well as

between academic disciplines– Should be apparent for example in the secondment plan and ESR supervisor

selection

Tips for writing ITN proposal

• Distribution of knowledge outside the project (at all levels during the project, after the project, research outcomes, training material, commercial or open-source products…)

• Show concretely how the different Work Packages create a larger structure

ChildBrain – 8 training events (ca. 2/year)

Page 11: Writing an ITN proposal Jarmo Hämäläinen Department of Psychology University of Jyväskylä

For the next ITN proposal we would…

• Think more carefully the Deliverables– Everything you put here is a reportable item in the

web-portal• Spend a few more hours on the Ethics when

writing the proposal– Specify everything possible to reduce work load

during the ethics screening and assessment phases
