Steps to success
1. Read the documents your group was assigned.2. Answer the questions to insure you have processed the information in the documents. I will
grade your research and you will be given an individual gradefor your research.
3. Write a journal reflecting how the research you were given reflects how World War I was a newtype of War.
4. After your group members write a journal you should discuss the direction your movie will take.Questions to keep in mind:
-What aspect or aspects of World War I does your group want to focus on?
-How does your research prove that World war I was a new type of war?
-What were the causes of World War I?
-Could the war have been avoided?
-Is it the major social, political, social, and /or technological developments of World War I?
-Is it the system of alliances?
-Will you focus on the impact of the war on the nations involved and the world?-Will you focus on the propaganda?
-How were women involved in the war?
I can have a mini lesson with your group if you need some guidance.
5. After your group answers these questions and agree on the direction of your story you will all tell,
you may begin your script for novel or movie.
6. Your graphic novel or movie had at least 12-14 images that were appropriate for the audience
and the understanding and why World War I was a new type of war. You need to select copy
right free photos or give credit to the website that hosted the photo. You can even use photosof yourself to drive your graphic novel or movie. When you save the images at home you can
save them to a flash drive or email the pictures to me [email protected] Please
include your name, period we meet and group number and topic when you email me.

TASK
Use your research to create a first person journal entry depicting Life in Europe in During
World War I. Use your research handouts, group discussions, text book reading, links on the
blog and your project notes to gather information for your journal. These resources are your
research for the assignment to insure your journal is historical as well as creative. Be sure to
include clear historical information as well as your words and thoughts about Life in during
World War I. I want to hear your voice analyzing and evaluating the history you are researching
in class. You can be yourself in the journal, you can be a historical figure, you can be a child, a
man or a woman. You can be anyone you want in your journal. The important aspect of your
journal is that you write using you own a word describing your thoughts and knowledge about
what life was like in Life in during World War I. Your journal must be at least 200 words.
