1956 – Dawn Fraser wins her first of 3 gold medals in the 100m freestyle at the Olympics

made specifically for the female hand 1998 – Venus Williams records a 204kmph serve 1998 – The IAAF announce two more sports will be
added to the Olympic line up for women meaning they will now compete in the same number of events as men at the 2000 Sydney Olympics
2004 – Women’s wrestling is included in the Athens Olympics
2012 – Saudi Arabia send women to the London Olympics, making it the first Olympics to have women in every team
2012 – America send more women than men to the London Olympics
2012 – Women outmedaled men for the US, China & Russia
