There was a big turn-out, and it was nice to meet many prospective OLA parents and students. Our eighth grade students and our Advanced Music students did a great job reading as lectors, singing in the choir, and playing the bells. Thank you, Mrs. Smith and Ms. Cibotar, for directing them. The classrooms at Open House were beautiful, and I was very proud of the fine work that our students had on display. I thank our students for their hard work throughout the year, and our teachers for their commitment to excellence in the classroom. I also thank our PTG, 8 th grade students, and Jane Ricci for the work they did in setting up hospitality and manning the greeter tables. To echo my comments in yesterday’s e-blast, thank you to our PTG for the wonderful breakfast and snacks given to the faculty on Monday to start Catholic Schools Week! The flowers and the candy decorations have brightened our campus and have spread good cheer! You spoil us! Today we honored our students, and they had a great time skating at “ the Rink!” We took delight in seeing them have fun as a large group on this really fun field trip. The fun continues for them tonight, as they will have no homework. Yahoo! Tonight we will have our Wine and Cheese Parent Social on Faith in the parish hall. Fr. Kiernan, Beth White, and I are looking forward to spending time with our families in reflection and discussion. We have carefully planned an evening that we believe you will find fruitful and enjoyable. We hope that you find value in the hospitality, conversation, and sharing. I know that evening meetings are a challenge for families. We lead very busy lives, and we have many commitments with other school events, sports, and other activities in which our children are involved. But, our faith is central to our mission, and tonight’s event gives us a unique opportunity to share and enrich our journey of faith as a school and pa rish family. Your attendance is deeply appreciated. Just a reminder that we will have babysitting in the Extension building tonight. Please sign your child in and sign him or her out before leaving. Here is the schedule for the rest of Catholic Schools Week: Wednesday: Nation Flag Raising in the front of the School. Students will start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance, and we will sing the National Anthem together. Thursday: Vocations and Volunteers Students will write Thank You Notes to clergy and others in religious vocations. Pajama Day Friday: Faculty and Staff Sports Rally for basketball teams and Students vs. Staff Volleyball Game. With Hands to Serve and Hearts to Love

National Catholic Schools Week 2014

January 26 - February 1 Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service

We had a wonderful Catholic Schools Mass and Open House on Sunday. I also thank our PTG, 8

th grade students, and Jane Ricci for the work they did in setting up

hospitality and manning the greeter tables.

To echo my comments in yesterday’s e-blast, thank you to our PTG for the wonderful breakfast and snacks given to the faculty on Monday to start Catholic Schools Week! The flowers and the candy decorations have brightened our campus and have spread good cheer! You spoil us!

Today we honored our students, and they had a great time skating at “the Rink!” We took delight in seeing them have fun as a large group on this really fun field trip.

But, our faith is central to our mission, and tonight’s event gives us a unique opportunity to share and enrich our journey of faith as a school and parish family. Your attendance is deeply appreciated. Just a reminder that we will have babysitting in the Extension building tonight. Please sign your child in and sign him or her out before leaving.

Here is the schedule for the rest of Catholic Schools Week:

Wednesday: Nation

Flag Raising in the front of the School. Students will start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance, and we will sing the National Anthem together.

Thursday: Vocations and Volunteers

Students will write Thank You Notes to clergy and others in religious vocations.

Pajama Day Friday: Faculty and Staff

Sports Rally for basketball teams and Students vs. Staff Volleyball Game. The Rally starts at 1:20 p.m., and the volleyball game follows it (if there is no rain, and the field is dry).

God bless,

Robert Love
