One of the most popular thing that is part of Win-ter in Willmore is the Gingerbread Village. Our Art-ist-in-Captivity, Isaac Salgado, together with Board member, Hulean Tyler spend months plotting and planning on how to outdo themselves each year. and signs. Each year the location of the Gingerbread Village changes, so that everyone can experience the joy of sugar in their shop! This year you can view it at Pump’d Nutrition, 425 Pine Avenue. If you are famil-iar with the Village, there are new items this year—two trains instead of one, and an electric lighthouse and windmill. Take a walk with your family down Pine, enjoy the lights and decorations, have some dinner, maybe delicious chocolate truffles and a piece of pie at Romeo’s Chocolates and Pie Bar, or perhaps an adult beverage at Kress Market, then stop in awe and admiration at Pump’d Nutrition to enjoy the Gingerbread Village! Happy Holidays to all.

We hope that Isaac is complying with child labor laws….

WCHA has traditionally been responsible for the front exterior of the house. Somewhere along the way the exterior of the carriage house and the patio were added to the fray. A few years ago WCHA mem-ber Maria Barrientos and her mother, Eleanor begin doing the dining room table, which became all of the dining room, and now the butler’s pantry, kitchen, and bathroom as well. The decorations and labor are all donated by each organization, so please let them know how much you appreciate them. We hope you attend both Victorian Christmas and Winter in Willmore, and enjoy the hard work of your neighbors! The Port of Long BeachThe Port of Long BeachThe Port of Long Beach

We were fortunate to have the Port of Long Beach come and speak at our last General Meeting. Execu-tive Director Mario Cordero, the Managing Directors of Engineering Services, and Planning and Environ-mental Affairs, Sean Gamette, and Richard Camer-on, and Communications and Community Rela-tions, Kerry Gerot, spoke about various aspects of the Port. The main economic driver for our area, it generates approximately 100 billion in trade. To-gether with the Port of LA, it forms the busiest US port and the world’s 10th busiest. The Middle Har-bor project, as well as Pier B, along with the newly approved Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) will contrib-ute to a greener, more efficient port. As a neighbor, the Port has been a great partner to our community. By supporting Willmore Season of Live Arts and Music (SLAM) they helped to bring Shakespeare and the Long Beach Symphony to the Amphitheater at Cesare Chavez Park. Their support of Winter in Willmore means that snow comes to Drake Park every December. In addition, WCHA has received various grants that improved our parks and greenspaces, while mitigating for Port related-pollution. This year the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners awarded $440,650 to various health related projects. Thank you POLB for everything.
