INFORMATION SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE:Business Intelligence Master’s Program: SetFocus, LLC.Atlanta, GA: August 2009 – March 2010The SetFocus Business Intelligence Master’s Program is an intensive, project-oriented course where participants gain practical experience putting the Microsoft business intelligence suite to use in a simulated work environment.

Implemented a business intelligence solution for a simulated construction company that involved importing and transforming data from outdated sources, converting it into OLAP form, and constructing complex reports to facilitate informed decision making.

Consolidated information from multiple data sources into a uniform SQL Server 2005 database. ETL capabilities of SSIS were then used to import data, build scheduling packages, define integration flow, log error exceptions, define database maintenance plans, and send conditional emails.

Utilized SSAS to construct cubes from dimension and fact tables. Cube performance was improved through hierarchal and custom aggregations. Cubes then had calculated members and key performance indicators (KPIs) added to enhance reporting capabilities. MDX queries were written to elicit cube data.

Developed executive level summary reports, line and pie charts, trend analysis reports, and sub-reports using SSRS. Report subscriptions were added for review by senior management.

Created scorecards using PPS to measure revenue, overhead costs, material purchases, labor charges, and profitability trends. Created business intelligence dashboards within PPS which were then deployed to MOSS. Multi-page dashboards were

populated with integrated SSRS reports, scorecards, and PPS reports.

Business Analyst: AvanadeAtlanta, GA: June 2008 – February 2009Avanade is an IT consulting firm formed jointly by Microsoft and Accenture.

Gathered requirements for and performed testing on custom application designed to improve oil and gas well data collection for one of the top five energy corporations in the world. Rapid application development (RAD) was used to deliver product quickly, while maintaining the flexibility to handle transforming client demands.

Consultant/System Developer: A Crew of TwoAugusta, GA: May 2006 - August 2006Employed as a contractor by a small construction firm to replace its outdated accounting system to simplify and automate record keeping. Client also required all data to be re-entered into new system to prepare for tax auditing.

Elicited requirements for new system from business owner. Designed interlinked computer programs using Excel that calculated and recorded revenues, expenses, and profits. Filed all revenues and expenses for the years 1999 through 2006 in computer programs to provide accurate accounting

information. Reorganized office operations to ensure the timely filing of business data. Consulted on the adjustment of business structure to reduce administrative costs by 30%.

MILITARY EXPERIENCE:Nuclear Electronics Technician: United States NavyUSS Abraham Lincoln: October 1999 - October 2003Part of 50 man reactor control division responsible for the operation of 500 megawatt nuclear reactors to provide propulsion and electricity to a naval aircraft carrier.

Controlled, monitored, and ensured the safety of 2 nuclear reactors. Performed routine and corrective maintenance on 8 pieces of electronic equipment directly related to reactor safety and

control. Received, processed, and relayed communications across 10 engineering stations to coordinate nuclear power plant
