DESAYUNO DE PANCAKEJoin us for the Feast of Corpus Christi Celebration Mass on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church. Please spread the word to anyone with historical ties to the church or school, especially Corpus Christi

alumni, faculty and staff. Mass will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a procession through the prayer garden (weather permitting). After returning to church for the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, there will be an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast by Chris Cakes in the rectory courtyard. It's a great opportunity to reconnect with current and past parishioners, alumni, faculty and staff. Bring the family, too! This is a joint celebration; therefore, there will be no 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Ladislas on June 23. Alumni: Please join the “Alumni of Corpus Christi and Saint Ladislas Catholic Elementary Schools” Facebook group, and spread the word to your classmates. Signup sheets for volunteers are available in the back of church. FROM THE PRIEST:Fr. VinceExperiencing the gift of the Holy Spirit is something we see in the gospel this Pentecost weekend. After Jesus' death and Resurrection, He gives them the gift of the Holy Spirit- Jesus knows they need the Holy Spirit for the mission at hand, since He was filled with the Holy Spirit when He was baptized by John the Baptist.We receive the same Holy Spirit through our Baptism which helps us live a new life (Romans 14:17), love, and strength to be real disciples of Jesus.This gift of the Holy Spirit is only made available through Jesus Christ – He wants to help us in our daily lives in our faith, hope and love, and does that through the Holy Spirit!May we recognize that we are not living life alone- that we have new life through the Holy Spirit and open our hearts totally so we may serve God fully!• Pray for Pope Francis and those who lead the Church, especially Bishop

• The Bishop’s Annual Appeal is still ongoing! As believers, we experience the joy of the Gospel, inspiring us to follow the example of Jesus to love one another. The Appeal gives us the opportunity to support the good works and ministries that brings hope to many of our brothers and sisters throughout the 23 counties of our Diocese, especially in our parish community! The goal for Corpus Christi is $12,094.00 and for St. Ladislas is $19,612.00. We have pledged $13,461.00 for Corpus Christi and $17,405.51 for St. Ladislas!!! THIS IS AWESOME FOR OUR PARISH COMMUNITY and I'm grateful to those that have pledged! • After many discussions and prayer, our Director of Stewardship and Evangelization, Mike Gray has decided to retire from his position. Although this may be the case, he will continue to assist with stewardship and evangelization in a lesser capacity (thank God). I'm blessed to have Mike and Betty (his wife) in my life and in our parish community, and I pray you enjoy your "official" time off with Betty!

• A reminder that next weekend (June 15-16) is Father's Day weekend- a blessing of fathers will happen at all the Masses.

• A reminder that we will have a joint Mass on June 23 for the Feast of Corpus Christi at Corpus Christi beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Mass/Procession and Benediction. There will also be a complimentary pancake breakfast as well. There will only be one Mass that Sunday and volunteer signup sheets are in the back of our churches.

MASS INTENTIONS/INTENCIONES MASIVASAn individual may ask a priest to offer a Mass for several reasons: for example, in thanksgiving, for the intentions of another person (such as on a birthday), or, as is most common, for the repose of the soul of someone who has died.

If you would like to request a Mass intention please fill out a Mass Intention Envelope located in the back of church and place it in the offertory basket. The stipend for a Mass is $10.00. Checks can be made out to the church where the Mass will take place. Masses for both Corpus Christi and St. Ladislas for 2019 are filling up quickly and we have started scheduling into the year 2020. If you would like to request a specific date for a Mass intention, please call the parish office for scheduling, otherwise the intention will be scheduled for the soonest possible Mass at the specified church.Un individuo puede pedirle a un sacerdote que ofrezca una misa por varias razones: por ejemplo, en acción de gracias, por las intenciones de otra persona (como en un cumpleaños) o, como es más común, por el reposo del alma de alguien que ha muerto. SECRETARY OPEN POSITION/ POSICION ABIERTA DEL SECRETARIO

The Parish Community of Corpus Christi and St. Ladislas is looking to fill our Secretary position. The secretary opening is a part-time position requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week. The Secretary position provides support to the day-to-day operations of the Parish. This position offers the flexibility and opportunity to make use of particular gifts and talents of the individual, such as computer skills, programming, and scheduling of various ministries. Requirements of the position include, but are not limited to, an understanding of communications and the Catholic perspective; excellent communication skills and the ability to serve others; must be courteous at all times; must be flexible to adapt to changing needs; the ability to work with others in a collaborative team environment; and the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write short correspondence, and memos. A minimum of two years' prior experience in an office setting is required; computer experience required. Job offer is contingent on the successful passing of the mandatory background screening and completion of the VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children” course. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
