WELCOME TO SENIOR SCHEDULING 2012-2013

Mr. SamoyednyWhere do I start? What do I need?Senior year is very different than any other year. You need to construct your schedule according to what you need in college.Colleges DO look at your senior courses!Certain majors require certain courses to be taken in high school.

What do colleges expect to see in my senior schedule?College admissions reps like to see you take courses that are related to your major.Enroll in as many honors and AP courses that you can handle (without being overwhelmed!)Some higher level courses are mandatory for certain majors.A non-challenging year could lead to a smaller scholarship award or an admissions denial.

Some things to think aboutPenn State You must have trigonometry and at least three years of foreign language to apply to a many four-year programs. New students take a language proficiency exam.Calculus is needed for many business, science, computer and engineering majors. Colleges definitely look for exposure to this subject.

Physics - Many science, computer and engineering majors.Language requirements - Research college requirements as many differ. You should be thinking about your future and college plans now!Be PREPARED for senior year!!!!
