BEGINNER BAND
A PREREQUISITE FOR HIGHER LEVELS OF BAND (JR HIGH/ HIGH SCHOOL)Only offered in 6th grade

Only a few instruments are furnished so you may be responsible for providing your own instrument
Must indicate Band as an elective choice on your sheet, even if you have already auditioned for an instrument

Students who have low scores on a Math and/or Reading STAAR test, end-of-year RTI Universal Screener, and/or earned a low final grade in 5th grade Math and/or Reading may be required to take an improvement class in place of an elective unless the chosen elective is Band. Then the improvement class will take the place of PE. Improvement classes are assigned by Holloway Administration.

Students may take only one Honors class or up to all five Honors courses offered IF they meet the requirements for those classes.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE AN HONOR CLASS?Must have an 85 final average in each subject requested at the end of 5th grade
