Morning bell rings at 8:38 for students to move to first hour

Doors at the front foyer and back ROTC entrance open each morning at 7:30

Early Morning classes begin at 7:45 each morning and release at 8:35

Students are dismissed to the gym/café/upper mezzanine until the bell for first hour rings.

ECS students are released to the buses or the parking lot if they drive.

For the second year student fees will be reduced to $30

Families with more than one student at SCHS will be charged a reduced fee of $20 for each additional student

Student fees are used for school wide programs such as agenda books, lockers, student incentive and recognition programs, guest speakers, etc.

Tardies will begin on Monday!

Students must be in their classroom before the final bell rings.

You must have your permanent ID on you at all times.

Students who are in the hall at the tardy bell must report to the tardy station in the front foyer.

Upon earning a third tardy a student will be assigned a Thursday night detention.

Students who are out of dress code may be issued a warning if it is a first violation.

Depending upon the severity of the violation, a student may be asked to change clothing. They will have the option of wearing a clean article provided by administration or must wait in a private area for a change of clothing to be brought to them from home.

Students may not charge food. They must pay cash or have money in their account.

Checks are accepted but they must have a permanent address and phone number and counter/starter checks are not accepted.

Students are given 25 minutes for lunch each day.

Menus are published in the newspaper and on the district website.

All students are invited/encouraged to join clubs at Scott County High School

Clubs meet once a month during the school day.

First club meeting will be Sept. 20

Students will have an opportunity to learn about clubs and join in advance.

Most clubs charge a fee and those must be paid before a student will be issued a club card to attend.

If a student is absent from school for any reason they must have an excuse upon returning to school

Parent notes are acceptable for illness, death and family emergencies.

Students are allowed six parent notes

Up to 10 Doctor’s notes are accepted as well.

Students will have 10 school days to submit a note to excuse an absence.

On the first day back to school after an absence students must go to the concession stand before 8:45 to submit their excuse and receive an admit slip for class.

They must get an admit slip even if they have forgotten their note.

Admit slips are to be shown to each teacher on the first day back to school.

Any student with 42 or more unexcused missed classes will not be able to attend prom.

42 classes is equivalent to seven full days of school

Skipping a class period counts as an absence

42 or more unexcused missed classes will result in seniors losing the right to walk at graduation or participate in any senior activities.

Any student leaving school during the day must have a parent or guardian sign them out either in person in the attendance office/desk or over the phone.

The attendance office is located in the front foyer and the attendance clerk is Mrs. Gillispie.

When the student is called out of class to leave they must go to the attendance office and personally sign out with Ms. Talbott before they leave. Failure to do so is a violation of school policy.

If a student arrives at school after the start of the day(early morning included) or returns to school after signing out, they must personally sign in at the attendance office/desk and receive an admit slip.

Failure to do so is a violation of school rules and may result in a consequence.

We must account for all students in the building at all times.

SCHS All-Sports Passes will be available at the first home football game as well as during school in the first weeks.

Social Media – pictures and videos posted of other students can be considered bullying and used as evidence.

Once it is posted, it is there forever!! Theft – DO NOT EVER leave technology in

your bag or in a classroom. Stolen technology is almost never

recovered!!

Only juniors and seniors are allowed to drive

Parking permits will be issued beginning during the third week of school

Students can print off the application from the school website and will apply at the attendance desk.

They must have a valid driver’s license to apply

Cost is $10

Parking tags must be visible in the car and no unauthorized items may be left in cars on school grounds

Driving is a privilege may be revoked if the privilege is abused.

Morning ECS students will load the buses outside the cafeteria

Buses leave at 8:42 each morning

The bus returns to the high school at approximately 11:40 each day.

Students must remain in the cafeteria until the bell rings.

Afternoon ECS students will report to the cafeteria for lunch at the beginning of fourth hour each day.

They will have approximately 25 minutes for lunch and will be released from the cafeteria to load the buses at 12:08

Students will return to the high school at approximately 3:40 and will unload and immediately load their bus or car.

IF a student needs to enter the building for any reason they must remain in the concession/gym area until the bell rings at 3:45

Any student wishing to meet with their guidance counselor for any reason must sign up in the guidance office in advance.

They must sign up and indicate the class period they would like to be called from.

The guidance counselor will send the student a hall pass during the requested hour when their schedule permits and the student will be allowed to come to the office.

Drop ins are only honored in the case of an emergency.

How Long is the Class?There are 3 eleven week sessions throughout the year.

Testing OutThere will be testing at the end of Sessions 1 & 2. If you pass testing, you will not have CR class for the 3rd session.

How Will I know if I’m in CR? Your 4th hour teachers will notify you that

you are in CR and will have a list telling you where to go.

Orientation is today for the students scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays.
