Welcome to the Modesto Junior College Spring 2016 semester. Congratulations you have completed Step 1
Your MJC student ID Number (lower case 'w') is: w0000000 . This is a very important ID number that you will need to remember.
The following steps should be completed before you register.
Step 2: PiratesNet & Email Account Activation
All MJC communications will be sent to your MJC College email account. Visit MJC PiratesNet to activate.
Step 3: College Orientation (CORE STEP)
All students must complete a college orientation to be eligible for priority registration. Please wait a minimum of one hour (during business hours) after
submission of your application to complete the online orientation. For first time log-in users, the ID is your "W" number using a lower case 'w' and the
password is your 6 digit birthdate (mmddyy). See the Orientation webpage for more information.
Step 4: Placement Assessment Testing (CORE STEP)
The Assessment test identifies your skill level for English/Reading or ESL & Mathematics course placement. You must have your Student ID "W" number
(must be lower case) before your test date. All students must take the Math and English/Reading or ESL assessment test to be eligible for a priority
registration appointment. Note: All California Community College test scores are accepted. Refer to the Testing Center webpage for test dates and
practice tests.
Step 5: Educational Planning (CORE STEP)
Choose your first semester classes with a Counselor in a Group Advising session. After completing Orientation, and Assessment, contact the Counseling
Office to schedule a Group Session at 209-575-6080.
