Have You Seen Our Garden?
What a beau ful year for growing plants! Our resi‐dent, Almeda, has contribut‐ed several plants to our Courtyard Garden and they are beau ful! We have pur‐ple, yellow, and red gladioli, a pre y pinkish dahlia, and some snapdragons! The resi‐dents grew zinnias, nastur‐
ums, and marigolds from seed which are in full bloom and are really colorful. The tomatoes are amazing and one hot pepper plant will be producing peppers soon. The basil and even cilantro (which I killed every other year) are thriving! Make sure you take a peek. Flowers are magic! Nancy Bliss, Ac vity Director
And the winner is . . .
Most Thursdays at 4:30pm, we have a piano sing‐a‐long in the Dining Room before dinner. Those who enjoy old‐ me music join us and love to guess the names of songs. One week in July, American folk tunes were featured and residents guessed the songs with only 3‐4 notes as clues, then we sang the songs.
On one par cular song, only two notes were given and amazingly, Theresa popped out with the correct tle. It was so fun to see the shock on every‐one’s face. Theresa, you are a true win‐ner!!!
Thank You Volunteers This summer, we have had many volunteers step in to help us in a variety of ways. In this issue, we would like to thank those who help with our faith‐based ac vi es: Sunday worship services: Ron Burn, Doris Wilson, Cindy Lutz, Terry Spivey and his sons, Paul and Isaac, Barbara Guardino, Anna Fagerberg, and in August, Doug Gemmill. Our Bible teacher, Judy Morford, who will take a break in August and resume in September. Devo on leaders: Stephen Hunter, Dawn Lawrence, Joe and Carol Ann Mendez. Also, Nancy Bliss, Janet Wilson and Robert Hodson who covered while Nancy was out sick. We so appreciate their willingness to come share God’s love with our residents. Chaplain Nancy
Choir Takes a Break Our Hearthstone Singers will rest their vocal cords dur‐ing the month of August while choir leaders make prepara ons for a very fun Fall and Christmas season. Start‐up date will be in September.
