What is mean by TQM ?
In Modern competitive Business World Quality of the product is the only way to achieve success in Business it is observed that successful Business Organization pay utmost attention to the quality of their products. Therefore in modern times the concept of Total Quality Management (TQM ) has achieved universal acceptability and has gained more popularity. The most important recent development is the increasing attention to the concept of quality and the emergence of TQM. The term TQM has been defined by different expert in the following ways.

Definition of TQM ?1] British Quality of Association :- “TQM is corporate business management philosophy which recognises that customer needs & business goals are inseparable. It is appropriate with in both industry & Commerce.
2] Indian Statistical Institute, Hyderadab :-“TQM is integrated organizational approach in delighting customers (both Internal & External) by meeting their expectations on a continuous basis through everyone involved with an organization working on continuous improvement in all product service and processing along with proper problem-solving methodology.”

1] Continuous improvement of the Organization which must be equal to or greater than that of any competitor.
2] Continuous & relentless cost reduction
3] Continuous & relentless quality improvement and
4]to create an organization where by every one is working toward making their organization the best in the business, & to capitalise on the sense of achievement & working in a world class organization.

2] The principle of ‘Plan-Do-check-Action’ is used in TQM.
3] workers’ co-operation & active participation is very essential for TQM. Without it TQM cannot be achieved
4] In TQM Principle of interrelated control is followed in which work of each one can be checked by other person.
5]TQM relates to all activities, factors processes, departments, functions etc.of an org.
6] In TQM the principle of daily management is followed in which daily planning , control and corrective action are taken promptly.
7] the cost of production is an important factor of TQM & hence it tries to make savings in cost by maintaining the same quality.
8]TQM is the way of life & hence management must concentrate on achieving excellence in all its activities.
9]TQM is the style of thinking & acting which demands participation of everybody in the organization.
