WHAT IS FINANCIAL LITERACY?

In this course, your student will learn many factors involved in making wise decisions to become financially responsible:

• Learn personal skills to be prepared for the job market

• Navigate the road to financial aid for college

• Maintain a checking and savings account

• Understand their taxes and protect assets

• Create a budget and maximize their purchasing power

• Understand and preserve their credit

• …And much, much more!

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ME:

• Genuine excitement for the subject I am teaching

• Care for and belief in your child

• Desire to see your child succeed into the future

• Fairness in assessments and grading

• Advocate for your child and teach them to self-advocate

• Understanding of your student’s workload -

If they keep up in class they will have minimal homework

WHAT DO I EXPECT FROM STUDENTS?• Keep organized notebooks – they will be graded on their notebooks• Consistent effort, preparedness, reliability, work completion• Respectful attitude in class - I will treat them like young adults and

expect the same in return• An open mind and active participation in discussions and activities• Ability to save and keep track of their work: A FLASHDRIVE is very

helpful. • Their notebook will be a portfolio to refer back to later

I KNOW they will learn a lot that they can use now and later in life.

I am excited about what they are learning already!
