Content Standard : By the end of the year-6 primary schooling, pupils will be able to

pronounce words and speak confidently with correct stress, rhythm

and intonation.

Learning Standard : Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance.

Language Focus : Nouns (fishing rod, fishing net, pliers, knife, gloves, bubu, bucket,

spear)

Behavioural Objectives : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

i. match out of words with the correct pictures.

ii. pronounce and spell out of tools that a fisherman

uses.

iii. state the uses of all a fisherman’s tools.

Previous Knowledge : the pupils have learnt about different occupations.

Instructional Materials : word cards, pictures, a board game, a poisonous box,

worksheet, video clips.

some missing alphabets. The

tool, and a pupil needs to

complete the spelling of the word.

2. The pupil selected for this activity

is chosen by passing around a

‘poisonous box’. When the music

stops, the person holding the box

will need to spell the word and

match it to the correct picture.

3. The pupil must tell the class the

use of the tool.

4. Steps 1 & 2 are repeated for all

the tools.

5. The teacher asks the pupils to

take out their ‘wr’ book.

6. The pupils listen to what the

teacher says and writes down the

tool/ what it is used for.



POST-LISTENING


Post-

1. The pupils are placed in groups.

Each group is given a boardgame.

2. The board game tests their

pronunciation and spelling of the

tools and what they are used for.

There are a

number of pupilswho have higherproficiency levels

compared to theothers.

Closure

- Appreciate the people in ourcommunity, such as fishermen.

Without them, we would not be

able to eat fish.
