Ancient Greece continues to fascinate us, as the wonderful new exhibit at the Field Museum demonstrates.
The ancient Greeks themselves seem at once so familiar, as the West finds in them the origins of politics, philosophy, literature, art and architecture, and yet so alien in their mythology, religious practices, and social life.
Porch of the Erechtheion, a Greek Temple on the Acropolis
In this class, we examine this history and culture, both as an historical reality and as a backdrop to modern thinking.
