Student Registration for our 2015 Seminole Success Night is open! During the spring semester, the Career Center and the Center for Leadership & Social Change holds its annual “Seminole Success Night: A Celebration of Diversity and Leadership” networking event. This event provides a unique opportunity for students of diverse backgrounds to network and build relationships with corporate companies and organizations who are actively seeking these populations. WFSU WINTER RADIO MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Volunteer with WFSU for the Winter Radio Membership Drive: Get service hours in a casual, fun environment, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how radio is made! WFSU is looking for volunteers to help answer phones during the Winter Radio Membership Drive from February 6 to February 13. Volunteers must be age 18+. Shifts are 1.5-2 hours long

and range from morning to evening and on Saturday. There is plenty of free parking on-site and snacks are provided! GLOBAL AMBASSADORS PROGRAM The FSU Center for Global Engagement's Global Ambassadors Program (GAP) connects international students, scholars, and faculty with organizations and classes at FSU. They have participants from all over the world who are interested in talking about their home countries and cultures with your members. BIG BEND HOMELESS COALITION:

POINT-IN-TIME COUNT Big Bend Homeless Coalition is collecting information about what homelessness looks like in Tallahassee and its surrounding counties and they need your help! There are several ways to be a part of their local Point-in-Time Count this year. The project will take place over a six-day period, from Sunday, January 25, 2015 through Friday, January 30, 2015. During the week of the count,

100 volunteers are needed, most of whom will be needed to conduct the surveys with individuals experiencing homelessness living in unsheltered locations (woods, streets, cars, etc.). These surveys are conducted over a three-day period: Tuesday, January 27, 28, and 29. In addition to surveying, there are other roles such as photographers and data entry volunteers, $5 gift cards for survey participants (as a thank you for participating), and food and drink donations. A mandatory Volunteer Training will be conducted on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at the Disc Village shared training space. GIRLS ON THE RUN Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a national non-profit that provides an experience based curriculum to girls ages 8-13, that encourages them to be confident, joyful and healthy, while also creatively incorporating running (non-competitively). GOTR is now seeking coaches for the spring season, that will begin in February. Teams meet twice a week for 1.5hrs, for 10 weeks, and seasons culminate with an end of season 5K that is truly something spectacular. Spring season will begin in February and end in early May. The girls walk away with lessons and confidence to last a lifetime, and you walk away knowing that you played a HUGE role. Most sites start around 3:00pm and end around 4:30pm. School sites still in need of coaches: Hawks Rise, Maclay School, Desoto Trail, and Roberts. *Males CAN coach as well! FEDERAL WORK STUDY POSITION:

CENTER OPERATIONS STUDENT ASSISTANT Center Operations Student Assistant (COSAs) are responsible for preforming a wide variety of important tasks at the Center for Leadership & Social Change such as assisting with daily operations and upkeep of the Center. Duties include: maintaining the department’s fleet of vans (filling up with gas, replenishing forms, data entry of mileage logs, transporting to/from the repair shop, etc.); organizing/cleaning spaces in the building (storage closets, work rooms, etc.); and helping with other special projects. COSAs will have the opportunity to cover the front desk as needed (answering phones and assisting visitors who come in seeking information or services). Students should be able to work 8 to 10 hours/week, Monday through Friday. Seeking candidates for historic interpreter positions, including those who are bilingual in both Spanish and English. The primary responsibilities for these positions are to inform the public of the history of Mission San Luis through tours, programs, and daily interpretation of the history and

culture of the Apalachee and Spanish residents of the 17th-century mission. Such costumed "living history'" interpretation will include demonstrations of period crafts, skills, and chores while attired in 17th-century clothing. You must be comfortable speaking and interacting with audiences. Training will be provided in the history of the site. Additional responsibilities of this position will include assisting with day to day historic maintenance tasks, including program preparation and clean up, animal husbandry, cleaning of exhibit areas, gardening, carpentry, opening and closing of reconstructed buildings, and other related tasks.
