Troop Responsibilities

•SelectScoutstoserveasdenchiefsforeachWebelosScoutdenandCubScoutden.ArrangeforDenChiefTraining.

•Serveasaresourceforovernightactivities.Thetroopcanbeofservicetoprovideequipment,leadership,andlogisticsforWebelosparent-soncampouts.

•ConductanorientationintheBearCubScoutdenstoexplainthechangingroleasboysbecomeWebelosScouts,andthenagainastheybecomeBoyScouts.ExplainhowbeingaWebelosScoutwillhelppreparethemforBoyScouting.

•Webelosden/ScouttroopcampoutsshouldshowWebelosScoutsandtheirparentswhattoexpectwhentheymoveintothetroop.Thetroopshouldcookandcampbypatrol,anduseskillsinwhichtheWebelosScoutscanparticipate.

•ArrangeforWebelosdenstovisitatroopmeeting.Thisshouldbeplannedseveralweeksinadvance.

•Webelosleadersshouldbestronglyencouragedtomoveintothetroopwiththeboys,eitherasassistantScoutmastersortroopcommitteemembers.ThiswillgivethenewScoutsafamiliarfaceattroopmeetingsandaconnectinglinktoBoyScouting.
