Introduction:

Ever since I was little and ever since I held my first yearbook in my hand, I’ve always wanted to make one. Actually to be honest majority of why I wanted to make one so bad was because my brother was always picked in the yearbook team and he made it look like such a blast. Now that I’m older Al-Jabr gave me the opportunity to make one and I couldn’t be happier.

Yearbooks are special. They’re not just a book that we see and read everyday. One yearbook can be filled with thousands of memories and old pictures. It’s a book that we will look back on in the future multiple times. In fact I go through my second grade yearbook quiet often. It’s full of people that had a part in your life, even though you might not be close anymore, they were still a part of it. Yearbooks makes you remember moments in your life that you might’ve forgotten. It makes you realize how times have changed. Yearbooks are something you could treasure forever.

Parts of A Yearbook (Analysis):

1. Yearbook Cover:Obviously a book won’t be a book without covers. In my opinion the cover is the most important part of the whole book. It needs to be eye catching, extraordinary so that it can bring interest to people.Here are some cool ideas that people have created for their yearbook cover.

2. Introduction Page:There are many types of introduction pages. It can be a note from the principal, it can be a table of contents, it can be pictures or any other cool and fun ways to start the book.

Body of the YearbookThis is one of the important part of the yearbook. It’s the main content of the whole book

-Student & Staff Photos

These are just pictures with each person’s name on the sides so we won’t forget the names and the face of the people who are part of it. It’s categorized by grades and the pictures are

usually in alphabetical order.

-Memories and Pictures

-Games

-Extra Team pictures (football team, basketball team etc) Awards (Most Likely To, Best … Worst… etc) ETC.

A yearbook will not be complete without a page/pages of memories and good moments captured and put together into a collage.

Yearbooks needs to be fun. It needs to be a book that you will never get tired of. That’s why by adding games, it makes the yearbook even more complete

My Ideas:

Me and my group haven’t really come up with something for sure yet. We do have some ideas in mind.We have 2 really cool covers in mind though:

This is one of the first cover idea that we instantly got attached to. The cover is so unique and cool to

see. Its’s cool because since the cover is a locker, its like opening a part of your life. Unlocking the old memories and reliving them. Also we wanted to make the locker look like the one in Aljabr. We wanted to make the front cover look extremely

dirty/dusty and then when you open the book the pages are clean and bright.

This is another really awesome yearbook idea because its so practical. We have a

yearbook and we have a DVD space for the people who are going to create a video

instead of a book.

Conclusion:

At the end of the day all I want to do is make people remember US. I want to make people remember all the fun times e’ve had together and all the memories

we created together as an “angkatan”. No matter how coool and appealing the yearbook is.. if it’s not going to make other remember.. then there’s absolutely no

point on creating one. So yeah, I really want to make an awesome yearbook to remember!

CRITERIA B:

I want to make a yearbook to remember, so just in case I sketched/designed 3 types of yearbook so I can have a lot of choice to choose from.

I really like this design because my group have decided that we wanted to do the locker edition because it’s really cool. The

design inside the book is really nice but simple too.

I ran out of ideas for my yearbook but I had one more idea which was a comic. But the downside of this is that the comic theme is already

mainstream and not very unique

WE PICKED DESIGN NO.1Why? Because we feel like that is the one we want to make and cherish. It is simple yet colorful and very cool. The locker design is very unique. Also the colorful insides are nice to see

RESULTS

This is our cover for our design of our yearbook. The idea was that the yearbook is a locker. So it’s like when we open the yearbook, we’re opening a locker to our

past and we can look back at the past. I find this idea kind of cool because its very unique and it different than most yearbooks we’d find. We made the

yearbook a bright colour and we made it look like a little bit like the one at school.

COVER

This is the page where our principal gets to talk about us and his/her experience of

teaching us. This page is very colourful with the pink and the zebra motive.

Reflection:

The results were okay. It wasn’t something I was SUPER proud of. Yet again its not as bad I thought it would be. Desgining and creating a

yearbook is something new for me, and also I learned it wasn’t easy. It was pretty difficult creating this in a group because eveyr member

have a different perspective and fiferent ideas and we have to somehow combine it together to make something. The good side about our yearbook is that, the cover was pretty creative, it was

colourful and it was fun to look at. The bad side of about our yearbook is that it was way too simple and boring it was also leading

to more of a girls book than an “everyone” type of book. Overall im okay with the result even if I know we could’ve done better. Next

time I make a yearbook I’ll know it isn’t something easy to do.

This page is for activites like paskibra,graduation,farewell etc. I specifically like the idea of giving

activites a page. We can remember highlights of our years together. We can remember what happened on the day. We can remember who we hugh out

with. We can remember the moments. Which is precious.
