Schedule Archive 1 st Quarter-8 th Grade *WEEK ONE (August 24th-26th): Course overview, followed by students setting up accounts on Gravatar.com , in order for students to activate avatars for the class blog. Avatars will be created using Adobe Photoshop. *8th grade assignment *WEEK TWO (August 30th-September 3rd): Students will complete all required LJ modules and will take pictures of their still-life arrangments. Students will begin to digitally enhance images once they have been uploaded to the computers. *8th grade assignment *WEEK THREE (September 7th-10th) Students will complete all required LJ modules and will begin editing their self-portrait images. 1st Quarter-8th Grade

*WEEK ONE (August 24th-26th):  Course overview, followed by students setting up accounts on Gravatar.com, in order for students to activate avatars for the class blog.  Avatars will be created using Adobe Photoshop.

Thursday (Sept. 23rd): No work due.  At this point, all of your self-portrait and landscape work should be finished. 

Friday (Sept. 24th): Editing still-life images.  Self-portrait editing should be finished.  Students can utilize this time to finish both still-life and landscape edits.

WEEK SIX (September 27th-October 1st)

Students will spend Monday and Tuesday completing the "Draw Over" Self-portrait images.

Wednesday-Friday:  Evaluations of "Draw Over" Self-portraits.  WORTH 100 POINTS.

WEEK SEVEN (Oct 4th-8th)

Students begin working on Web Design basics, such as creating hyperlinks and inserting jpeg files.

Monday (Oct. 4th):  Yearbook Cover Design Contest!  Each student will work on a yearbook cover design, and the winning design (which will be voted on right here on the blog) will be used for the yearbook!

Criteria:  Your design can be created in either Photoshop or Illustrator. 

Specs:  8.5" X 11" *Resolution MUST BE 300 dpi. 

Colors:  Blue and Gold (discuss with Mr. Woolery if you wish to use any additional colors).

The cover MUST feature the following: 

2011 Mariemont Junior High School

All completed work will be worth 25 points (due Friday, October 8th at the beginning of class).  Save your file as a JPEG and please save it in a new folder (in your Public Folder) titled "YEARBOOK COVER."

*In-class vote for top (classroom) yearbook design covers will be conducted Tuesday, October 12th.  Online poll voting for top overall design will be conducted on Wednesday, October 13th. 

WEDNESDAY, October 13th:  In-class voting (blog poll) for overall yearbook design.  The top vote-getters from each class will be featured in a poll on the Home Page of the blog.  Once the overall design has been voted upon, the Yearbook staff will officially begin production on the yearbook!

In-class activity:  Creating Hyperlinks and inserting jpegs (instructional video will be provided).

TUESDAY, October 19th:  Dreamweaver review.  Students who have re-created Mariemont Junior High Home Page, will create an animation (at least 20 frames) that they will insert (on the Home Page).

Finals Week Preparation.  Students will have ample time to prep for the final.  The DA final (4th quarter) will consist of an animation assignment.  One of four animation assignments will be randomly selected by a student.  Whatever animation assignment is selected, the entire class will work on that particular assignment. 

FINALS BEGIN Thursday, June 2nd.

4th  QUARTER WEEK TEN:

Monday, June 6th and Tuesday, June 7th:  Final two days!
