Application for Washington Calling Program 2020 This application is to be completed by students who are interested in being selected for the Washington Calling program, organized by the Steve Hicks School of Social Work’s (SHSSW) DiNitto Center for Career Services. This program is a one-week career development seminar in Washington D.C. during the week of UT’s Spring Break (March 15-20, 2020), and is designed to serve UT SHSSW BSW and MSSW students interested in learning about social work in our nation’s capital. Through the School’s alumni networks and field placements, there will be a wealth of opportunities for all students to explore. Cost Students selected will be responsible for $250 of the cost of travel. The estimated total cost per student of the trip is $1,625, which would be covered by SHSSW. Once selected, there will be an opportunity for students to fundraise for their portion of the cost of the trip. The number of students selected will be dependent upon funding availability. There is a possibility that the program will be opened up to students who wish to pay their own way (the full $1,625 cost). Please indicate on the application form whether you would be interested in attending if you were responsible for the total cost of the trip. Application for Washington Calling Program 2020

RECOMMENDATION FORMS

Two recommendations are required. Recommendations may be from university faculty/staff, and/or current/former supervisors. At least one recommendation must be from a professor in the University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work. The recommendation forms are included in this document. Recommenders may include an optional formal recommendation letter but this is not required. Have your recommenders complete the form and return it to the DiNitto Center following the instructions given on the form.
