Week 1: Course Information

Grade breakdown:

o Coursework Grade – 10% (mostly writing materials or quizzes)

o Participation Grade – 10% - (quizzes (in-class, deadlines, participation)

o APA Citation Quiz – 5% - on BB – lockdown browser (possible video use)

o Writing Project 1 – 20%: Outline (5%) Work Record (5%) Essay (part of essay – paragraphs) (10%)

o Presentations – 10% - mostly done in students’ own time and delivered during class time

o Writing Project 2 – 25%:o Outline (5%)o Work Record (10%)o Essay (part of essay – paragraphs) (10%)

o Final Exam – 20%:

What students should expect:

Prompt attendance to on-line classes

Attendance will be taken as normal

Students found not to be answering questions or participating will be graded down

Students should meet all deadlines for submitting class work

At certain points during a class, the teacher may ask all students to leave

the classroom and perform an assessed quiz (this usually takes around 15

mins – 20 minutes). Any student not performing the task may see a

reduction in their participation grade and a missing attendance mark.

These quizzes will not be given twice.

Many of the course assessments will be submitted through SafeAssign. This

program will detect any forms of plagiarism. Please make a note of this.
