Just a reminder that tomorrow we are going on a virtual (pretend) trip. You will find out the details tomorrow but you are going to need a packed lunch. We will be sending you things to look at and activities to do. One of the activities might be outside so let’s hope the sun is shining!

READING - We are learning to discuss word meanings and link new meanings to those already known

I hope you are enjoying the book and learning lots from it too. We learn from information books whether it be the content or the new words we pick up along the way. After you have read the book choose one person from the book. Re-read the page about that person and look closely at the picture. Describe the clothes they are wearing as best you can. Now see if someone else can guess the job of the person you are describing. If they get it right that means your descriptions are spot on. You do not have to write anything down this can be done verbally. Have another go.

LITERACY - We are learning to ask questions and remember vocabulary that we have already learnt.

This is a game. You need one other person to play with.

1. Either print the animal names on the next page or write them out yourself. Cut them out to make animal cards.

2. Turn the animal cards over so that you can’t see the names.

3. Choose one animal card by DON’T LOOK AT IT!

4. Let your partner see the name of your animal.

5. Ask them some questions to help you to guess which animal you chose

Your partner can answer yes or no.

If they don’t know the answer, they can say ‘I don’t know’ or try to find out!

Am I a mammal? no

Am I a reptile? yes

Do I have legs? no

Am I a carnivore? I don’t know

Am I a boa constrictor? yes

MATHS – We are learning to read times that are half past the hour.

First, you have a power point to read through and then a sheet to work through. Remember that you don’t have to print the sheet. You can just talk to someone about the answers. Remember the work that we did earlier about finding half of a shape. Have fun!

FOUNDATION – ART/SCIENCE

Today we are going to be making play dough animal models. Attached are two easy recipes for you to make your own playdough. Please send in your photos of what you have made. If you don’t have food colouring that’s absolutely fine. Just being creative is what we want to see
