English Society Celebrates Book Week 2019

In accordance with the requirement set by the Supreme Student Government Office that all registered school club must hold at least one activity for the entire school year, the English Society culminated the Book Week Activity last November 27, 2019 with the theme: “May Pag-asa sa Pagbasa.” This annual activity emphasizes the importance of reading as the key from which all other subjects are anchored from regardless of the language used for the enhancement of students’ learning. Several contests were conducted for students’ participation and enjoyment which include: reading hour, poem writing, essay writing, poster and slogan making, literary trivia, verse choir, and the highlight of which is the parade of literary characters and writers. All winners received prizes from the fund raised during the film-showing. Over-all, the activity is a success having participated by a tripled number of students’ population compared to the previous year.

These photos are taken during the reading hour activity. Students are givena reading text with sets of comprehensionquestions. Those who got perfect scores are drawn on the culmination day and are given prizes.
