Criteria CaixaCorp is not included in the scope of this report (except for the information given in EC1) as this group owns its own policies and management system as well as an independent Corporate Responsibility Report. Indicators’ scope and perimeter are shown in the “scope” column of the index. Moreover, environmental indicators do not refer to information related to Caixa Girona as it has only joined the Group in November 2010 and its environmental performance has been regarded as not material for the purposes of this report.

C Benefits given by “la Caixa” in financial terms: 33,051,370 The pension commitments of “la Caixa” are externalized and implemented through a pensions plan and complementary policies taken out with an insurance company. The “la Caixa” employee pensions plan, which complements the public pensions systems (Social Security), is a defined mixed contributions plan (defined contribution for retirement and defined loan for invalidity and death). This Plan responds to the institution’s undertakings established in a Labour Agreement in 2000, which improves the regulatory framework of the Savings banks’ Agreement in the area of pensions. See also Note 37 to Consolidated Financial Statements 2010 and Note 34 of the Annual Accounts 2010.
