Introduction:Objectives are a must in

any activity.It is very important not only

in the educative process but it is also important in our daily activities.

In the teaching-learning process, a clear definition of objective is very necessary for the efficient evaluation of the course.

Before you prepare for your classes, before you choose the subject matter, methods and strategies of teaching, visual-aids to use, it is very important to be able to state clearly what your objectives are.

Without carefully stated targets, it is not possible to evaluate the degree to which the learner has performed in the manner desired.

Good objectives also help the students appraise their own progress and guide them in organizing their efforts toward relevant studies.

WORDS TO REMEMBER:

OBJECTIVE-simply means goal, target, or thing you want to achieve. It is an intent communicated by a statement describing a proposed change in a learner.

INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES are the criteria by which materials are selected, content is outlined, instructional procedures are developed, and tests and examinations are prepared.

BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES is one that describes an observable student behavior or an observable product of student behavior. Formulating behavioral objectives is the crucial first step toward sound instructional design.

Advantages of behavioral Objectives

1.Evaluate a course or program efficiently. 2. Sound basis for selecting appropriate materials, content or instructional methods. 3. Help teachers to select appropriate evaluation procedures.
