2016 CAMPAIGN KICKS OFF IN LESS THAN A MONTH

The end of summer may be nearing for some, but for United Way volunteers, the heat is really turning up. The 2016 Campaign is set to kick off in September. Join over 600 volunteers for a hot buffet breakfast as Col. Stephen Kelsey, 2016 United Way Campaign Chair, will announce the region-wide campaign goal.

The annual Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast takes place on Friday, September 9, at The Ambassador Hotel & Conference Centre, 1550 Princess St. Doors open at 7am.

2015 Kick-off Breakfast

Eye opening, heartwarming, engaging, and inspiring are just some of the words to describe the Seeing is Believing Bus Tours. See first-hand where donations go as you visit local agencies, learn more about programs, and meet some of the front line workers and recipients of services.

The tour starts at Memorial Centre Parking Lot. The bus leaves at 10:00am. The tour concludes with lunch at one of

the agencies and the bus returns to the Memorial Centre by 2pm. Registration is required.

2015 Seeing Is Believing Tour

2 Issue #8 – August 10, 2016

Fare for Friends began in 1993 by Clark Day, Joanne Langlois and Michele Langlois. This event brings together the area’s finest restaurants, wineries and breweries. Live and silent auction items are gathered from local artists and business, offering a wide range of exciting items to bid on. Check out our Facebook page for a photographic preview of some of the items on the block this year. All of the food, drinks and auction items are generously donated.

On Steptember 17th and 18th, come celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Kingston Police, support the United Way KFLA and be a part of a unique event like the 2016 North American Police Equestrian Championships (NAPEC).

As part of the celebrations and events occurring for the 175th anniversary of the Kingston Police, riders from across Canada and the United States will be attending Kingston for conference sessions and to train and compete. The Kingston Police are proud to partner with the Correctional Service of Canada to allow the event to occur within the historic grounds of Kingston Penitentiary.
