From 1st Vice President—Workshop Chair

Everyone enjoyed the Lighthouse on Music Sheet

class. We especially want to thank Alise for teaching us

the class since she had just gotten out of the hospital

that week and was not fully recovered.

We are looking forward to the March 7th workshop with

Nancy. The project will be “Winter’s Eve

Sled.” Thank you Nancy for being kind enough to give

us a demonstration of the preparations for the oval por-

tion of the project. We have 19 signed up for this class.

Ginny will be teaching an oil painting class of “Spring

is Here” on April 4th. So far we have 10 people signed

up for this class. The registration form is in the news-

letter.

Lucille Dickinson will be teaching an acrylic painting

on May 2nd. Lucille provided a sample painting for

us. I call it “Seaside Gallery.” I will have the sample at

the March 7th class.

I am going to be out of town for a couple of months. In

my absence Jan Nichols has graciously agreed to take

over my duties as 1st VP. Please contact Jan to sign

PALM COAST DECORATIVE PAINTERS CHAPTER MEETING

February 7, 2015

The meeting was called to order by President, Judy Beuchert at 9

am.

Officers Present: Judy Beuchert, Linda Doup, Lana Raymond,

Georgia Strein, Ruth McDonald, Barbara Jacobs and Mary Chumley

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as published in the

newsletter.

Treasurer, Ruth MacDonald reported a current balance of $ 3665.78.

The annual Treasurer’s report is complete and the checkbook has

been balanced. Ruth has indicated the club accounting books are

always available for individual review at all club meetings.

OFFICER & COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Workshop Chair, Lana Raymond, reminded everyone of sign up for

the March and April workshops; examples of the up-coming pro-

jects were available. Lana will also provide a list of set-up, clean-up

and snacks for the next meeting to Noreen Walker at the end of each

meeting.

Lana also stated the contract with Pat Smelkoff for the August meet-

ing has been signed. The project is an acrylic, titled, “At the

Dock”.

Membership Chair, Barbara Jacobs, stated the chapter has 31 paid

members. Barb also provided a preliminary membership roster and

asked all members to review and make any corrections so a current

club roster can be sent to members.

Newsletter editor, Georgia Strein was asked by Mary Chumley to

reprint the information regarding the Flagler County Fair. The Feb-

ruary newsletter incorrectly stated:

“Remember to put on your calendar the Flagler

County Fair. It will start on April 9th at the fair-

ground. We will need volunteers to work for a 2 l/2

hour period. We are only selling chances for a

wooden churn with a rooster painted by Ginny and

Nancy. “

The correction should indicate the correct date is April 1.

Mary also requested the fair dates and volunteer informa-

tion be re-printed in the March newsletter. Georgia will re-print corrections.

Ways & Means Chair, Mary Chumley, reminded everyone of the

Flagler County Fair dates and the need to have volunteers sign-up to

sell raffle tickets for the butter churn. Ginny stated there would only

be one table. A list of available dates and times was circulated for

volunteer sign up; each volunteer will sign up for 2.5 hr. sessions. A

parking pass will be provided to individuals volunteering. Mary

also provided an information flyer to each member and requested

they be distributed. Contact Mary for needed dates and times to

support this event.

.

Judy asked for ideas on how to increase membership and fund rais-

ing. Suggestions included Craft fair at the Knights of Columbus

and participating in a fashion show for a local boutique.

Directory Committee Chair, Lee Fasnacht is updating the directory.

If any member is in need of an up-dated version and/ or new mem-

bers should contact Lee.

Hospitality Committee Chair, Noreen Walker will receive a list

from Lana at the end of each Chapter meeting of volunteers assist-

ing with set-up, snacks and clean-up for each Chapter meeting.

Kudos to Noreen for her excellent preparation of our Chapter meet-

ings.

Website and Kids boxes Chair, Ginny Wiegand stated the website

is up to date. Ginny stressed the need to begin our annual project

of Kids Boxes. Members donating five (5) boxes will receive a

$15.00 certificate toward cost of a future workshop. Ginny also

suggested each month members focus on specific items for dona-

tion. For the March Chapter meeting, requested items are hair

items (combs, brushes, hairbands) for girls and toiletry items

(shaving cream, deodorants, no razors) for boys,

There was no Old Business.

New Business

Christmas Party-Judy asked the attending membership for a prefer-

ence in dates for the Christmas Party. The proposed dates were

December 5 (the first Saturday) or December 12 (the second Satur-

day). By a show of hands, the vote of 13 – 3, voted to have the

Christmas Party on December 5.

Show & Tell- Alise Duerr, instructor for the February chapter

meeting, showed her recent work in Acrylic and Colored Pencil.

She also brought patterns for purchase.

Next meeting date-March 7, 2015

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Doup, Secretary
