Situated in the heart of Somerset West, Lourensford’s newly renovated event space, Laurent, boasts one of the most celebrated views in the Cape. A picture-perfect natural backdrop, Laurent boasts unparalleled rugged mountain, exquisite vineyard, and manicured garden views.

The perfect setting for corporate and private events alike, Laurent can accommodate both small, intimate and lavish, extravagant affairs and can accommodate up to 250 guests comfortably. Whatever your eventing needs, Laurent looks forward to accommodating them.

Our functions manager will be available to assist you in organizing all aspects of your function and to ensure that your day is stress-free and 100% unforgettable. Each of our clients are encouraged to make use of our in-house coordination service, though this is not

a prerequisite to making use of the space. Making use of our in-house coordination service means your

individual needs will be assessed by a professional intimately familiar with the event-space in order to

ensure our clients enjoy a unique and stress-free event at Laurent. Your coordinator will act as a single

point of contact leading up to as well as on the day of your event.

As a complimentary inclusion when booking your event at Laurent, our clients are entitled to a one hour

consultation session with our coordination team. During this meeting our team will advise you on our

preferred service professionals, as well as assist our clients in brainstorming ideas and pinning down the

vision for your tailor-made event!

Our comprehensive coordination & event management package is designed to cater to our clients’ individual

Our Standard Venue Hire Package Includes:

We offer our guests a choice from a wide variety of outdoor event areas overlooking numerous vineyards

and mountains. The lawn in front of the primary venue, as well as certain outdoor areas will also be

reserved for your exclusive use (weather permitting). In case of inclement weather, Laurent is pleased to

make our glass-roofed veranda available to our guests as an alternative.

*Note: Additional costs may apply. Please enquire with the venue manager for more information.

The surrounding vineyards, historical buildings and exquisite mountain views make for the perfect back-

drop for all your photographic needs.

C A T E R I N G

Laurent looks forward to titillating your tastebuds with our catering. We reserve the exclusive catering

rights to your function in order to ensure an unwavering standard of excellence at Laurent. In the event

of any special dietary requirements dictated by religious belief, our Executive Chef will gladly suggest an

alternative Halal/Kosher catering company. Should you opt to make use of an outside caterer for religious

reasons, an additional kitchen hire fee of R15, 000.00 excluding VAT will be applicable.

Please note: Due to the high volume of enquiries Laurent receives, and our own internal dedication to a

culture of excellence, Laurent is unable to offer menu tasting at this time. Please rest assured the catering

for your event will be 5-star cuisine.

B A R & S T A F F I N G

Laurent offers a comprehensive bar and staffing service and reserves the exclusive right to bar and staffing

for your event in order to ensure and maintain the highest standard of excellence.

Laurent is fully licensed and offers a wide variety of bar options which will be confirmed prior to the event.

The serving of Lourensford Wine Estate wines at your event is a prerequisite to making use of the event

space. Rest assured, Lourensford Wine Estate wines are world-class and the Estate offers three award-

winning ranges:

// Lourensford Estate Range

A comprehensive beverage list is available on request.

Our wide variety of beverages on offer will surely meet our clients’ individual needs with regard to both

personal preference and budget.

Please note that should you wish to serve a sparkling wine other than Lourensford’s MCC at your event;

a corkage fee of R 50.00 excluding VAT per bottle will be applicable. This corkage fee will apply to MCCs,

French champagnes, and all champagne alternatives including Kosher wines or champagnes.

Wine orders need to be placed with the Laurent Functions Manager and paid in full two weeks prior to the

event. The client shall not be allowed to bring their own drinks (including but not limited to wine, liquor,

spirits and/or soft drinks) to the venue. Exceptions will only be made in the event of religious or dietary

restrictions.

Please note that site inspections and viewings are offered strictly by appointment.

Our office hours are Monday to Friday 08:30am to 16:30pm.

Please note: flower and décor mock-ups can only be done on-site by prior arrangement, subject to the

availability of the venue. To schedule an on-site mock-up please contact Laurent management in writing.

O P E N I N G A N D C L O S I N G T I M E S

Venue hire for a week night presupposes an event end-time of no later than 22h00 on the event date.

Requests for extension of hours will not be accommodated under any circumstances.

The client shall ensure that all guests have departed from Lourensford Wine Estate by 22h30, unless prior

arrangements have been made with venue management.

Venue hire for a weekend event (Friday, Saturday or Sunday night) presupposes an event end-time of no

later than 00h00 on the event date. For events scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights, requests for

extended hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Laurent reserves the right to approve or deny

the request for extended hours without offering further explanation for the verdict reached.

The client shall ensure that all guests have departed from Lourensford Wine Estate by 00h30, unless prior

arrangements have been made with venue management.

S O U N D , M U S I C & E N T E R T A I N M E N T

Laurent provides a full two tier, state of the art, imported sound system at no additional charge. This

system is the sole sound system that will be allowed to operate on the premises – no exceptions. Our venue

manager will be happy to liaise with your DJ and/or band to brief them on Laurent’s specific requirements,

the equipment they will need to provide themselves, and equipment compatibility.

Please note the following:

// Outside sound is not included

// Bands require their own monitors

// Microphone included

// DJs only require wires, cables for their mixer

Regarding sound restrictions – Lourensford Wine Estate reserves the right to regulate the volume of all

music during the course of the event. Sound levels are monitored and recorded for the duration of your

event. All outside amplified dance and/or live music shall be stopped promptly at 20h00, with the stacked

glass doors being closed at 22h00.

All forms of amplified dance and/or live music shall be stopped promptly at 00h00. This rule will be strictly

enforced at all times. No speakers are allowed outside on the veranda during the evening, except for during

pre-drinks. Please enquire with venue management for system specifications.

V E N U E S E T U P

Venue setup shall commence on the day prior to your scheduled event only by prior arrangement and is

subject to availability of the venue. All arrangements must be made and confirmed in writing in advance.

Laurent will gladly assist with the basic layout and setup of tables and chairs (should Laurent’s stock be

used), provided that such a plan is sent to management at least two days prior to the event. Additional setup

staff will be made available on request and our clients will be charged accordingly.

A R 50, 000.00 deposit is required to secure an event and/or function date. To secure your date, you

will need to provide Laurent event management with a signed copy of Laurent’s Terms and Conditions

of service, as well as your proof of payment of the aforementioned deposit. 2Laurent does not accept

cheques, however *credit card payments are accepted.

*Please note, a handling fee may be applicable on payments made by credit card.

A quotation for provisional booking is valid for fourteen (14) days. A refundable deposit of R 10, 000.00

including VAT is required in order to account for any potential shortages, damages or breakages to any

property of Laurent’s; the balance of which will be repaid within the week after the event. The client will be

held responsible for any and all shortages, damages or breakages that may occur during the course of/as

a direct result of their event.

S M O K I N G

In accordance with South African legislation, smoking is only allowed in open areas. Strictly no smoking

(pipes, cigars, cigarettes, or e-cigarettes) will be allowed inside the venue.

clubhouse at our neighboring Erinvale Golf Estate.

Tantalise your tastebuds with the sensory adventure of sampling current vintages from Lourensford Wine

Estate, partnered with a lovely cheese platter! Or, for the sweet tooth, indulge in a chocolate tasting with

hand-made chocolates by Tomes and a little shot glass filled with honey liqueur.

A R T S T U D I O

Frans Groenewald, famous for his Flambé artwork in South Africa, as well as his Amsterdam range

Vespaghetti, has a permanent exhibition of his work in the gallery adjacent to his art studio.

Visit the roaster to watch coffee being roasted while receiving advice from the coffee roasters on brewing

the perfect cuppa. Join in for a free tasting of the coffees fresh out of the roaster!

A B R U M O T O R S T U D I O

ABRU’s taproom is located on Lourensford Estate. ABRU is a microbrewery with a very hands-on approach,

their artisan beers are as craft as it gets, and you can literally see the brewers at work in their open-plan

brewery & taproom…Talk to the brewers about purchasing beers to take home, or having them served at

your function.

Lourensford Harvest Market:

Soak up some African sun and treat yourself to our magnificent views with a Friday night or Sunday spent

browsing the food and crafts stalls at our Harvest Market.

This restaurant, run by chef Björn Dingemans, is a gastronomic extravaganza – so come and indulge! The
