• Schools will apply the following principles to prevent the

potential spread of COVID-19 at various venues and times

during the school day.

• 50-8-1(3) rule

• 50 max per venue (with minimal

intermingling), 8 per group, 1m

spacing (btw individuals, btw

groups), 3m spacing for physical

activities.

Ensuring Social Responsibility is Practiced

• Staying Away when Unwell: Students and staff will be

reminded to remain at home if they are feeling unwell.

HQO/SHN/LOA/AA policies are also in place to

ringfence the school.

• Wipe Down Routines: All students will wipe down their

desk areas and common/shared equipment each time

they need to move to a different classroom/venue.

• Wearing of masks/shields properly: Teachers and

students will be strongly encouraged to wear face

masks as their main option, with face shields their

secondary option if uncomfortable.

SMM in Classrooms during Lessons

Conduct of LessonsWhere possible, desks should be arranged in fixed

cluster/exam-style seating with at least 1m between students

(seat-to-seat). (no changing of seats due to contact tracing)

Activities can be conducted with 8 per group limit where group

work is involved.

Safe Distancing Measures In Canteen

(Recess/Lunch)

• Staggered recess time, not more than 7 classes at one recess and due

to fixed class seating, some classes will have recess in classrooms.

• Students to sit in assigned class seating area and observe safe-

distancing rules while sitting in canteen. Alternate seating arrangement

that is at least 1m apart.

CCAs, external learning journeys in allowed groupings, with exclusive use of

venues if possible

Curricular, co-curricular and enrichment activities with fixed intermingling

across schools

CCA and school activities that can abide by the following SMM can resume:

a) 1m safe distancing measures between students (3m for Physical Activities).

b) Activities that cannot maintain 1m safe distancing measures, should be

reconfigured to multiple groups of 8 with 1m between groups (3m

between groups for Physical Activities).

CCA and school activities involving the following will continue to be suspended in

2021:

a) singing;

b) high level of body contact such as Taekwondo sparring, Rugby scrum and

tackle;

c) overnight camps
