updating your spring/summer wardrobe

Updating Your Spring/Summer Wardrobe. It’s that time of year again and the shops are full of their spring and summer fashion ranges, but unfortunately we find ourselves in the middle of a double dip recession, so while we really want to start our wardrobes from scratch, not all of us are in that unenviable position and as such must use what we’ve got together with a few statement new season items for an up to date and current look. So what is in fashion this year? Skater dresses are still ‘in’ and tea dresses for the older ladies. And of course, leggings have been a must have item for a lot of years now. Tailored clothing has also been seen on the catwalk again so it’s up to us to utilise what we have and update it to suit. Cobalt blue is this season’s top colour and a single piece along with a favourite item can totally change the look and update the outfit. Even if it’s as simple as a blue belt and bag with a black dress, or a cobalt blue blouse under that black work suit….instant update. If you can afford to go the whole hog the stores are full of suit trousers but with more fitted legs and of course the en vogue skinny jeans, although some styles take ‘skinny’ to a whole new level! Look for gorgeous blouses, pretty shorts to wear with leggings or thick tights; once again, anything goes. Maxi dresses are once more in the stores. Some are figure hugging and totally unforgiving but there are still those with flattering cuts, leaving something to cater for every figure. Knitwear is also a high fashion item this spring. Carrying on from last year with crochet and loose knit sweaters, you’ll still have last year’s leggings and vest tops to wear underneath so it’s just a case of changing to this year’s colours. The high streets are full of all manner of styles and colours and of course most stores sell online. If you aren’t sure what suits you, you can of course return the selected items if they aren’t to your taste and knowing what doesn’t flatter you is a good start to working out what does.

Updating Your Spring/Summer Wardrobe.

It’s that time of year again and the shops are full of their spring and summer fashion ranges, but

unfortunately we find ourselves in the middle of a double dip recession, so while we really want to

start our wardrobes from scratch, not all of us are in that unenviable position and as such must use

what we’ve got together with a few statement new season items for an up to date and current look.

So what is in fashion this year? Skater dresses are still ‘in’ and tea dresses for the older ladies. And of

course, leggings have been a must have item for a lot of years now. Tailored clothing has also been

seen on the catwalk again so it’s up to us to utilise what we have and update it to suit.

Cobalt blue is this season’s top colour and a single piece along with a favourite item can totally

change the look and update the outfit. Even if it’s as simple as a blue belt and bag with a black dress,

or a cobalt blue blouse under that black work suit….instant update.

If you can afford to go the whole hog the stores are full of suit trousers but with more fitted legs and

of course the en vogue skinny jeans, although some styles take ‘skinny’ to a whole new level! Look

for gorgeous blouses, pretty shorts to wear with leggings or thick tights; once again, anything goes.

Maxi dresses are once more in the stores. Some are figure hugging and totally unforgiving but there

are still those with flattering cuts, leaving something to cater for every figure.

Knitwear is also a high fashion item this spring. Carrying on from last year with crochet and loose

knit sweaters, you’ll still have last year’s leggings and vest tops to wear underneath so it’s just a case

of changing to this year’s colours.

The high streets are full of all manner of styles and colours and of course most stores sell online. If

you aren’t sure what suits you, you can of course return the selected items if they aren’t to your

taste and knowing what doesn’t flatter you is a good start to working out what does.
