Vol. 17-18, No. 5 January 1, 2018
Dear Bain Families,
Happy New Year!!! I hope that all of our Bobcats enjoyed a wonderful winter break. We look forward to seeing our students back on Wednesday, January 3rd.
I want to thank all families that contributed their time, money, and donations to help others in our Bain family through our Bain Angel Tree. We received so many gifts that were given to families that needed assistance during this holiday season. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
We will be hosting exciting events this New Year! Mark your calendar for January 26th as our PTA will host a BINGO night from 5:30-7:00. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our Bain community and with your participation and support we will continue to be an “A+ School of Excellence.”
I look forward to all of the wonderful things in store for our school in 2018! As always, thanks for your support as we “Challenge and Prepare All Students For Future Success.”
Sincerely,
Tracey Hayes, Principal

3rd Early Release Day
2017-2018 School Year
February 6th at 12:15 pm
This year, the CMS School Calendar
provides four early release days throughout the school
year to allow our staff time for professional
development. Our school will open at our normal 8:15
time and lunch will be provided. Our buses will
complete the end-of-day routes and parents/guardians
will be able to pick up students who are car riders. We
ask that you be in the car rider line no later than 12:15
pm. We also ask that you notify day-care providers or
other appropriate parties of the early dismissal. If your
student is currently enrolled in an After School
Enrichment Program there is no need to take action. If
you need after school assistance for February 6th, please
contact the ASEP site coordinator at 980-343-6915 or
the ASEP department at 980-343-5567 two weeks prior
to February 6th to make payment arrangements. This
assistance will be provided on a first come, first serve
basis.
Again, the early release time will allow our teachers to
take part in workshops that will help strengthen their
knowledge and skills. This professional development
will go a long way toward bringing additional value to
your student’s learning experience during this school
year.
Media Center Volunteers Needed
Calling all Parents and Grandparents!
The Media Center is a great place to help our Bain Bobcats!
We are in need of morning volunteers to check in and shelve books …or… if you are a parent who sits and waits in afternoon carpool, come in, warm up and
volunteer!
Please contact Mrs. Freyer at [email protected] if you can volunteer.
Personalized Learning News
Bain's Personalized Learning Vision: We will utilize a Personalized Learning Philosophy
to enhance our educational framework allowing us to encompass the whole child,
increasing student ownership, striving for mastery learning, while implementing paces,
playlists and pathways.
This year we will focus on the 7 Habits presented in
The Leader in Me: How Schools Around the World Are Inspiring Greatness, One Child at a
Time by Stephen R. Covey
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Everyone Can Win
I balance courage for getting what I want with consideration for what others want. I make deposits in others’ Emotional Bank Accounts.
When conflicts arise, I look for Third Alternatives.
