October. Parents will take part in a P&C morning tea and discuss the P&C and
uniforms etc. Parents will also be informed about general things about our school.

Parliament News
Two parliament led activities have gone through parliament this week:
-Year 6 Fun Day (Friday Nov 8) to raise money for the Yr 6 farewell and gifts.
-Dress as your ‘Favourite Sports Star Day’, (Friday Nov 15) will be a gold coin
donation for our school.
Life Education
Healthy Harold has arrived and our students are participating in some very
important learning programs. Thank you for allowing your children to participate in
this annual event.
Stage 2 Swimming
Our Stage 2 swimmers start this Friday. We can’t wait to see our students using
their keys to success throughout this program.
Year 6 RAP day at MHS and Video Conference Lessons
This Thursday, teachers from the TAS faculty from MHS will deliver a videocon-
ference lesson to year 5/6 students from our LMG schools. This will be the first
of 4 or 5 introductory lessons where students can meet their future teachers and
talk about what each faculty/subject addresses in high school. The Resilient
Adolescent Program (RAP) Day for current year 6 students will take place on
Wednesday 23rd October. This is always a popular day with our year 6 students.
Musical Tickets— ’Pirates of the Curry Bean’ by Craig Hawes—Tues Nov 5
The Musical committee, P&C and School Exec Team have initiated a new offer this
year. It was decided that parents of Year 6 students should be given the first
opportunity to purchase tickets to see their children star in their last primary
school musical. This, of course, will be offered each year. Therefore, a pre-sale
for tickets will occur on Monday 4th Nov for Year 6 parents only. General ticket
sales will occur on Tuesday 5th Nov.
Quote of the week:
I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.

Teachers Corner
You may have heard your child talking about their ClassDojo.
So what’s it all about?
ClassDojo is a new reward system which has been introduced by many classes
at MPS. It is a classroom tool that helps teachers manage behaviour in
their classrooms. It also captures and generates data on behaviour that
teachers can share with parents and caregivers.
ClassDojo is an interactive reward system whereby teachers can give
students dojo points via the interactive whiteboard, an i-pad or even a
smartphone. Each child has an avatar and points are awarded by clicking on
the student and choosing the behaviour displayed. Points may be rewarded
for all types of positive behaviours including bringing in homework, being
a team player or even mastering a new skill. Points may also be taken away
for negative behaviours.
ClassDojo is a valuable tool as this behaviour data may be accessed by
parents at home. To do this, your child needs their student code and parent
code from their classroom teacher. You simply log onto ClassDojo.com/parent
and enter your code. Once you have registered, you will be able to view
your child’s current points and behaviours, and your child will be able to
change the appearance of their avatar.
