The UP Circle of Entrepreneurs is a non-partisan, non-political and not-for-profit student organization. It is also a duly recognized special interest organization of the

University of the Philippines and is a university-wide but at the same time a college-based student organization.

VISION

To be the top-of-mind organization in the university promoting entrepreneurial activities

MISSION

To be instruments in promoting entrepreneurship by (a) honing entrepreneurial skills among its members (b) executing quality entrepreneurial projects (c) instilling entrepreneurial

mindset to other students and outside communities (d) aiding SMEs in achieving their business goals..

OBJECTIVES

To provide an environment which is conducive to the development of individuals and which encourages members to realize their full capabilities within the framework of entrepreneurship

To develop within students of the University an awareness of the role of small and medium

scale industries in the development of the national economy .

To assist students of the University in becoming entrepreneurs in their own right through the instructions of the tenets of entrepreneurship.

To engage in small-scale business ventures in order to provide University students with

ample opportunity for the practical application of such tenets through actual, on-the-job entrepreneurial training.

To channel any profit derived from such ventures to the business ventures of other students

who seek to establish profitable and feasible small-scale enterprises of their own.

To channel any profit derived when available and sufficient to underdeveloped sectors and opportunities in order to provide them with the capital necessary for the establishment of their

own small and medium-scale business enterprises.

Oblation Nation will be the merchandise line of the UP CE. The line includes t-shirts, jackets and many more.

UPCE CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES FIRST SEMESTER AY 2013 - 2014

The Food Bazaar will be a fundraising project of UPCE. Bazaars have become one of the more popular projects of the organization, with three of them organized inside

and outside of the campus last semester.

During the Recruitment and Reaffirmation (RnR) Weeks, booths are set up in the Cesar E. A. Virata School of Business and Palma Hall to gather new applicants and to reaffirm old members. Last semester, we were able to induct around 50 new members.

The Applicant’s Orientation and Acquaintance Party (AOAP) is a welcome party for the applicants to orient them of the organization’s committees and

projects. This event is expected to attract around 60 members and applicants.

UPCE CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES FIRST SEMESTER AY 2013 - 2014

During Tambay Weeks, the organization holds games, movie screenings, pakain and other bonding activities for our applicants.

In this meeting, applicants are gathered to be oriented about the events (e.g. Talent’s Night and Entrepreneurial Fair) that they will need to prepare for during their application process. This assembly is attended by approximately 60 applicants and members

This Team Building Session inculcates among the participants the spirit of leadership and teamwork. This

event is usually attended by 40 members and applicants.

The Business Plan Making Seminar (BPMS) serves as a preparatory event for our applicants to create their business proposals for the Entrepreneurial Fair. This seminar is attended by around 60 applicants

The GUHIT Project for this semester aims teach children from the Philippine General Hospital or the Philippine Children’s Medical

Center to design coin purses which will be funded through the pledges of our benefactors.

UPCE CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES FIRST SEMESTER AY 2013 - 2014

Secrets of Marketing Magnets (SMM) is a seminar that features speakers from both the corporate and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Last semester, this event garnered at least 100 attendees from within and outside the University.

Talent’s Night is when the organization gathers to be entertained by its applicants’ production numbers. This event is attended by not less than 70

applicants and members.

Held once every semester, Adidas Brandsale is one of the staple fundraisers of the organization. This event draws at least 1,500 foot traffic from inside and outside the UP community for a period of four to five days.

The Entrepreneurial Fair is where the applicants, grouped according to their committees, execute their business plans and present their products to the organization as well as the University. The Entrep Fair is a competition of the businesses of the applicants where their outputs are judged by professors and students alike. This event

attracts a crowd of at least 500.

UPCE CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES FIRST SEMESTER AY 2013 - 2014

During this assembly, the different projects heads present to the members the progress of their respective events and orient them on ways in which they can help. Also, the Vice Presidents release the members’ grades

and recognize those who have outstanding performances. This meeting is attended by around 60 members and applicants.

The purpose of PAGASA Project is to instill positive changes in less privileged communities by creating and implementing in them

sustainable business models. Our PAGASA Project in 2008 garnered a TAYO (Ten Accomplished Youth Organization) Award making

UPCE one of the top student organizations in UP – Diliman and the National Capital Region (NCR).

This year, YEC will be an inter-university business convention and idea generation competition wherein participants will compete in creating a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project Idea for our corporate

partner. This convention is expected to attract at least 100 participants.

Induction is a formal gathering wherein applicants are officially welcomed as new members of the organization. Likewise, this event is a send-off party for all the graduating members. The Induction is attended by

approximately 70 new and old members.
